Hemi Operating Temperatures?

Just curious what the normal operating temperature is of the hemi users. I had an experience today and noticed it seems to be running warm, 225 and I shut it off, this is idling.. I noticed the fan on around 200 degrees and then it turned off and that's when it started to rise. I know when driving and most of the time 203 seems to be the average number I remember.

So for the people who pay attention to the digital gauge what temps have you seen and average?

Re: Hemi Operating Temperatures?

Thanks. I've read your posts when I was searching the forums before I posted to see about similar questions but only saw you post and like one other person. Must be others out there that watch their gauge?? and/or know their fan parameters lol

Re: Hemi Operating Temperatures?

J, mine runs in the low 200's a majority of the time. Only tops 225 when towing a hefty 5k boat uphill or WOT hauling arse uphill. Ambient temps rarely hit 90F here in the summers.

Re: Hemi Operating Temperatures?

Thanks Moose, have you ever looked at the temp when idling for a few minutes, say +5 minutes when engine is already warm? Does it reach 220's then back down?

Thumbs down Re: Hemi Operating Temperatures?

My Jeep Commander 5.7L HEMI 2009, the operation temp before 50000KM was in middle meaning 212 but after that noted its reach 233 when driving in dunes (Egyptian Desert temp 100 F) and return to 202 when the fan high speed become active (it's Hydraulic Fan take power from Power Steering Pump ) then i feel heavy vibration and low engine power
went to dealer make long check but no faults told me this is normal temp but the vibration comes from power steering Pump which need to e replaced by new one, they install new one and went to the desert again i found the temp still go to 230 233 and come down again but no vibration and no lose engine power, retuned to dealer they changed the main fan but the temp still the same no change in normal driving its visit 226 in rush hours and come down in high speed and visit 233 in the desert then come down again
i am convinced that this is not normal as i know my car before reach 50000km and now it's 88000km and the temp more that before but the car doesn't give any fault or any warning light it still able to tow other cars in desert and run
what you think the dealer miss!!!
