Re: Hemi Owners - Gas Octane Question?

That's very true, but more for the 'name' brands, and not the off-brand stuff. If you buy something like "Gasco", a cheapie around here, there's very little detergent additives, if any.

Re: Hemi Owners - Gas Octane Question?

What are people averaging city for the Hemi? My EVIC is usually around 11 mpg... I havent really done much highway driving, I will try to use cruise control a little more because it makes the engine go ECO more often.. I thought the Hemi should be at a minimum of like 13 city, granted I guess I dont drive like im 95 though.

Getting between 15-17 in all city and stop and go based on evic and calculations. I generally try to fill up at my local shell using 89. But as I mentioned didn't see a real difference in mpg between grades.

Re: Hemi Owners - Gas Octane Question?

From the little I've driven, I'm seeing around 14 MPG...was taking it a little easy until I break it in.

Re: Hemi Owners - Gas Octane Question?

I am in Europe and super which is the "normal" gas is 95 and "super plus" is 98 or 100 Octane depending on the brands but the EU uses a different octane measure. US equivalents would be 91 and 94-96 Octane. In any case they all work fine.

In fact I run a dual fuel system Gasoline / LPG and the vast majority of my driving is done under LPG which is 110 octane and above. Works like a charm.

Europe uses a different octane calculation than the US (RON vs. R+M/2). RON usually results in a higher number, even for the exact same fuel.

Wow really that high? Are you doing anything different or using cruise control?
