Re: HID Fog Lights

Curious why Jeep would change to those odd type bulbs. I have never seen a bulb like that type before.

I'm sure it won't be any match for a real fog light, but it might be a brighter white than the yellowish stock bulbs.
LED's wont put out any useable lighht for foglamps

My guess is so people like us wouldn't stick HIDs in them since i'm sure people having been bitching to automakers about the glare of aftermarket HIDs.

They've done this for years. The WJ uses headlight and fog light bulbs that are non-standard to the industry. Luckily, they are easily refitted with standard bulbs, but I question why they choose to continue with the practice.

Re: HID Fog Lights

I have always thought that the HIDs actually ran cooler than the factory hologen lights...?

The only down side if any would be the light housing reflection is not set up specifically for the HID light... so it may not "Reflect" optimally... But Im sure it will be bright as hell so I think I could live with it. We had a customer install HID's into ALL his lights to include the KC lights... So Im sure it can be done with out too much of a problem.

SPEED SAFE, NICK

Will the after market chrome plated fog light bezel increase illumination due to greater reflecting compared to the standard black plastic bezel?
