HID Fogs 2014 Summit

Just how difficult is it to do this swap?

Plug and Play isn't really accurately describing the difficulty level. I just completed it this weekend and why the heck Jeep made it so hard to get to the lights is beyond me.

I decided to take off the lower fascia and I am glad I did. It was fairly easy to remove the half turn clips and then just pull the fascia from the rest of the bumper. It just snapped out.

This provided me plenty of room although finding a place for the ballasts and the relays, canbus wiring etc was a little bit of a pain. There were easy ground locations on each side and the I took power to the main positive junction in the engine bay.

It was a huge difference in light output over the halogens, I ordered 5000K fogs and probably will have to change the stock bulbs if I want a perfect match.

I like XenonDepot kits because everything was sealed and arrived a couple days after ordering.

Hope this helps!

Do I have to remove the front facia? Is there any kind of writeup on this?

You do not have to remove the front bumper. You can also access the headlights and fog lights via the wheel well by either turning the wheels or removing them for more room.

For the record I didn't remove the bumper. What I removed was the lower fascia and it has got to be easier than drilling out plastic rivets and pulling the wheel well liner.

I don't even have a rivet gun to replace them.

If I am mistaken about accessing them via the wheel well, I apologize. I have read what needs to be done and to me 7 1/2 turn fasteners and voila is better than the wheel well.

Re: HID Fogs 2014 Summit

Removing the front air dam is definitely the way to go. Twist 7 quarter-turn fasteners and pull. Gives you access all the way up and down the front. Also, the HID Fogs will work just fine without having to install the relay harnesses...

No worries.

So, it seems I won't need to remove the front fascia, but will need to remove the inner fender liners which will require replacing several expensive Mopar rivets. Bugger.

No you don't have to remove the liner. There are 2 access plugs you remove, one on each side. It is tight and you will be working blind, but it can be done. I did it on my Limited before I realized how easy it was to remove the lower fascia.

If you can't get it done through the access holes, removing the whole front bumper cover is also really easy. Takes about 10 minutes to get off and about 15 to put back on.

The pom rivets and gun are cheap.
