Re: Hide-a-key solutions?

You can get those bags for toll tags that won't let a signal out. Put it that bag and duct tape it to the inside of the bumper!!!

Re: Hide-a-key solutions?

That Hitch Safe is a great idea. If you look at the schematics of the unit (on the specs page), you can see that the pins are locked by a clip from the inside. The only way to "easily" remove it is to open the lock and remove the clips.

Re: Hide-a-key solutions?

I carry mine around my kneck...

Dont store your expensive FOB under the vehicle.... Put it in your glove box! Your Key FOB does have a traditional key inside of it... that little lever on the end where the hole is will release the actual key. This key will allow you to get in & out from your vehicle. Store the traditional key outside the vehicle and the FOB can be left in the glove box.

From what I understand, you can leave a FOB in the vehicle. After 3 attemts to lock the doors with the other FOB the one left in the vehicle becomes ignored. <--- Or somthing to that effect. You may need to play with it... but I dont think you need to remove your battery.

SPEED SAFE, NICK

Re: Hide-a-key solutions?

Put the spare in a mylar bag. They block RFID signals and may block the Fobs also. When my fast trac transponder is in the mylar bag sensors on the road can't read it. Worth a try.

Re: Hide-a-key solutions?

Make a Faraday cage to hold the fob. Place cage with key inside somewhere in the Car.
Then just hide a key to open the door somewhere.

Re: Hide-a-key solutions?

i always keep an extra fob in the chest pocket of a jacket i always use. but at any rate, i do what the other guys are doing and i just pat down my pants pockets before i get into the car...

wallet, keys, phone. good to go.

if you really misplace your keys that much...you can guy keyfinders and attach it to your keyfob. amazon has a set of 6 for $50..it'd be a good value for you just in case you lose a couple of the keyfinders...

Re: Hide-a-key solutions?

Get a locking hitch key storage with a radio-signal blocking bag that you can get from your dealer and keep key fob in there. They come in both bag and metal box form and block the transmission from key fob so the car has no idea that the key fob is close. Problem solved.

Re: Hide-a-key solutions?

I just ordered a grey transponder key for my wrangler after reading this thread (http://www.jk-forum.com/showthread.p...-key&p=2863899).

Does anyone know if something similar can be purchased for the WK2?
