I was going to just post this in the original High Altitude thread, but apparently it was too much for the moderators to handle.
I'm at one of my local dealerships having some software updates performed to my Summit and was browsing the lot. Apparently employees at the plant slap on random badges now with no idea what car is sitting in front of them haha. Kind of funny how this can get through everyone at the plant, and even at the dealership. I know it's just a stick on emblem, but still kind of funny:)

Introducing ththe new 2015 High Altitude Overland Limited.

Yea, when I went to a dealer last week he didn't even know about the HA and they had two on the lot. I also had to point out that all of their HAs and Summits (all 4x4s) had a hidden tow package after he repeatedly told me they didn't and him looking under the back of them and not seeing it until I convinced him to look again and to remove the back cover.

Hey, Mickey. How about learning grammar before trying to sell me a model that did not exist in 2014? Paying people cash to test drive sounds like you are desperate for a sale. Also you are correct, there do not appear to be any nicks or dings in the paint, but the seats look like someone wet their pants on them!

Lol have had the same experience when I bought mine, amazes me how little the sales people know about the cars. Asked about an overland and they asked if I wanted the sunroof option, nav etc. Had to keep reminding them what the Overland came with :)

It isn't even sales people, it is also mechanics. I can't tell you how many times I've known about common issues with cars / motorcycles from reading message boards and then when I take my vehicle in for servicing, the service department has zero clue regarding the issue, known solutions, etc.

sometimes I wonder if they even inspect theses things and how some of this stuff makes it through. my summit was held back and delayed after building for one of the "extensive" quality control inspections and when I got it the speakers on the driver door and passenger door where different colors one side was silver and one was black. service advisor just shock his head when I showed him, took 3 trips for them to figure out how to install the right colors.

Oh crap you're right. I didn't even notice that and I was the one there that took the picture lol. Wow, so something goofy happened with assembly on that one. I wonder at what stage do the emblems get installed and how it got mixed up? Its weird because its not like a complete Limited tail gate was installed. I mean, it has the correct SRT/High Altitude tail lights and has the black Jeep emblem, but has chrome 4x4 and Limited badge lol. ooops The sad thing is, someone is probably going to buy that and never have a clue. Then again you never know. Someone specifically purchasing a High Altitude model might somewhat be into cars so it might get pointed out and fixed. Good thing is that is a very quick and easy fix. Simply replace the chrome 4x4 with gloss black, and remove the Limited emblem. The HA's get no emblems on the bottom right of the liftgate, not even the Overland badge.

Haha I would avoid this HA. Who know what else is screwed up on it. Chrysler quality at it again. It sucks it has to be Chrysler who is making such an awesome vehicle. They have their head shoved so far up their ass they can't even put the right badges on.

Does anyone else think it's weird that the High Altitude doesn't come with its own badge??

And there's that blank spot on the front seats where there should be the High Altitude logo. IMO, that kills this vehicle for me. It feels cheap.

Limited Edition means that the package is only available for however long Jeep wants to offer it. That could be part of a model year like the coming Anniversary edition this coming spring or span several model years like the Altitude did. Limited Editions are typically special packages on existing trim levels. The Altitude has been a special package on the Laredo trim level. The High Altitude is a special package on the Overland trim level.

The Altitude, for example, does not appear to be available for MY16 which starts production at the end of December, at least so far with information released. High Altitude, however, appears to be continuing into MY16.
