Wow! Lots of mileage per year! I would like to thank you for posting this. I drive 28-30K per year and am hoping to stick this out for 8+ years! Of course the mileage may not be as much later on but right now I'm driving lots.

Hoping to keep her for 8+ years!

Do you guys recommend any oil supplements such as Lucas, etc.? I"m planning on switching to Mobil 1 high mileage soon. That wasn't enough to prevent lifter noise on my wife's Galant.

Re: High Mileage WK2s

I'm at 61K on my 2011 V8 and have had barely a problem. Only actual issue I've had was a power window switch that was faulty and replaced under warranty. Other than that mine has been rock solid just following all the maintenance requirements. I easily expect to get another several years and at least 120k miles out of my Jeep.

Re: High Mileage WK2s

Had a 2011 hemi with 38000, got rid of it when dealer could not fix transmission issues, it was waiting for a t-case replacement when I traded it in (it had been 8 weeks waiting at that time). Previously had 2 new valve bodies and a new drive shaft, 5 visits total. Also had the sunroof track replaced.

Mobile 1 High Mileage stuff worked on my 4.0L Jeep from tapping for a good 50K. And stopped my wifes VW from burning oil (over 200K). Then the tapping started again on the 4.0L Jeep and I switched to Castrol Syntec Titanium (expensive) based on dealers advice. It worked up until I sold it at 217K. I'm huge believer in Castrol oils now. I also use Castrol Long Life stuff LL03 ($9.00/qt) in my wifes new VW (only available through dealers). I resist using heavier weight as long as I can (which is what a lot of additives do). I'd try the high mileage stuff from Mobile first because it's cheap and may work.

Re: High Mileage WK2s

75,000 on my 2012 Summit Hemi. Some electrical glitches and a new water pump. I still have the rattle in the Pano (pushing up on the edges has not fixed)
All my issues were pretty early, except for the water pump but that was covered under power train. All synthetic btw

Is that from the start or did you change to full synthetic at a certain mileage?

I had that fixed about a week and a half ago, Buckeye..it was a major job for the dealer, but worth it. Noise is gone, gone, gone!

Re: High Mileage WK2s

My 2011 V6 WK2 is up to 133,000 kms (82,600 miles). So far problems have been minor and most were fixed under warranty in the first 18 months. Other than wear items like tires, the only other things of note have been a leaky Quadra lift shock (warranty), flaky iPod port in centre console (warranty), one failed Bi-Zeon headlamp (will never go to the dealer for that again, due to outrageous cost there). I'm still aiming at keeping it many more years.

Re: High Mileage WK2s

14k since Nov 2013. I drive 28k to 30k a year. No trips to the dealer yet but my transmission has a very minor shudder when cold and up shifting. Time will tell. I may buy the 120k warranty. The unlimited warranty isn't available on diesels, which is stupid, since high mileage durability is a diesel's strong point.
