Re: Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Recommendations?

Thule T2 - Thule

I have one of these. I love it. Can't say enough good things about it. Very solid and built to last. No movement of noise at all while driving.

Re: Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Recommendations?

I have the Saris in the pic. I have had it for many years. I demoed this 29er for the weekend and was so excited that it fit with no issues.

Highly recommend 1up USA 1UPUSA.com :: Home hitch mounted bike racks. Made of aluminum and manufactured with a high degree of quality. A little pricey, but built to last and made in Wisconsin. I have a Pivot Mach 429 29" full suspension mountain bike and it fits on the rack nicely.
The rack does not take up a lot of space when you take it off the hitch and store it.

Here in Arizona, the sun will beat/wear down racks with plastic components such as Thule and Yakima and so that's the main reason I got the 1up USA rack.

Check out www.mtbr.com and http://forums.mtbr.com/car-biker/1up...ew-602461.html you will find lots of positive reviews on this rack.

Love my yakima highlife 3... Highly recommend, strong and sturdy with no wobbling. Locks onto the jeep and has a cable to lock the bikes. Bought it from rack attack for $287 shipped with no tax.

That looks incredibly high.

Ando, it's for sure higher than I like... Spent lots of time researching and for the money it was just the best rack that I could find. The locking feature was a must for me. Maybe I should saw it down

Just wanted to make sure it wasn't an illusion, haha.

My Kuat was also higher than I liked, but I was able to flip around the bracket that mounted to the rack.

No harm in it being high, but I'm a short dude... That'd frustrate me. Haha

What I also like about that style rack is that you can back it up against a wall and it's completely theft proof... The frame anyway

Re: Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Recommendations?

Thule 916 has served me well.. 2 x 2400 mile trips plus others without any issues. Once bike is on it, it does not move. I did tweek the brackets a bit to prevent theft and possible loosening, but that was easy. Folds nicely on car. Fits my 29er and road bike without touching frame. Fears of some issues I read about online have not been an issue.
