Re: Holder for cell phone?

Has anyone figured out a good mount for an iphone? i have been using the cupholder but i'm taking a road trip this weekend with some friends and we're gonna have those full. when it's on my lap, it falls between the seat and the center console which is a pain to try and get out...

Why not keep it in the smaller armrest bin and keep it charging via usb. Thats where I keep it on long roadtrips when I don't have to keep it handy.

I saw a really slick one that was a leather slide loader, more of a stiff pouch or wallet style with an open edge so that the phone would come out easily. It mounted to the side of the center stack by your right knee and had an opening for the charger cable. Unfortunately, I spent 15 minutes looking for it online before posting this message and could not locate it. I recall the ad for it in Macworld magazine and it was a premium product. Will keep looking.

I have found that in an Apple bumper protector, my phone stays planted on the leather dash area while driving in normal conditions, if I just lay it flat there. It also works to put it into the door handle. I usually put it in the cup holder but on long trips I'll connect it to the power port in the center stack cubby and just leave it there out of site. It's connected via BT anyway so it's not that important for me to see it or handle it on a long drive.

I'll let you know if I find that other item I was mentioning, but there are lots of similar sideloading products with flaps that could be easily modded and attached with double-sided tape or velcro.

Re: Holder for cell phone?

Someone suggested the pro-clip. I went online and found a decent setup here

http://www.proclipusa.com/default.as...e=&leftorright=

i would like to see one actually installed, not just in the picture.

i need to have access to my phone for email and other misc items and hate trying to get it out of pocket or off lap...

thanks for the info. if anyone finds anything that might be a good fit please post.

thanks.
