Copy and paste between the quote tags. You don't have to make 9 back to back posts in one thread.

I'm going to respond to any post that says its okay not to use the parking brake every time you park with a response showing why that viewpoint is wrong yes. If you don't want me to respond any longer...I'd suggest you stop posting that incorrect information.
Well, given that I do recommend using the parking brake, that sorta takes the wind out of the sails doesn't it?

Oh, and just in case you missed it, you did respond.

See, we agree that the parking brake should always be used.

But, there is actually a compliance issue here if the parking position of the transmission does not actually work... a legal compliance issue. Where an end user can report them:

Limited Slips don't prevent slow differences in speed on the wheels.
That's why they call them limited slips.

An old style locker might, but if you've ever driven a drag racer with one, you probably would not buy it for an everyday vehicle. They don't corner very well....

It would be trivial to tie the park position on the shifter to engage the parking brake as well... but if the park position doesn't work, why expect any better on the parking brake?

Re: Holy smacks! My JGC just moved itself out of the driveway

We have bells and whistles that warn us about just about everything. To satisfy those who like living in a Nanny state, they could program the key fob to emit a loud screech if it leaves the vehicle with the parking brake not set.

Trying to disable the sound would cause a lethal shock. One less person who doesn't use a parking brake.

Seriously, lstowell...posting 13 times in a row in a thread just yourself is is pretty ridiculous...

You can put multiple quotes in the same post...

That seems a tad extreme. If the batteries in the fob are lithium, it could invoke a dead short across the battery. It might not actually explode, but it sure would get warm in a hurry.

Dude, I know how a lsd works, I explained it earlier in the thread. But do me a favor tho. Jack up the rear of your jeep have someone hold a wheel and you try to turn the other. Let me know how it turns out. And I have driven drag cars. I drag race a few time when I when to the track and I was the one to dial in my buds mach 1. It had a locker and 4.56 gears. Reason I dialed it for him cuz hes inconsistent.

Interesting that everyone seems to be avoiding the "D" word. NHTSA takes such reports seriously but glad I have a '12 even though sometimes it does not turn off when expected.
