hood seals

can someone check under the hood to see how many seals there are on the top part i only have one on the right side is there one on the left also?

It is to block water getting into the intake.

Its normal.. Mines the same and I asked the dealership to make sure.

On the right side as you are looking at the hood (driver's side), on the front lip of the hood?
It looks like there should be a matching rubber strip on the other side, in fact there are holes to mount it. For some reason, maybe cooling, maybe to save a buck or two, WK2s come from the factory without it.

Yes. They explained to me that it was some sort of "snow shield" for the intake. I thought there should be another one too, since there's holes on the other side, but they said it's correct.

The left side is the only side that gets the factory 'rubber' seal on the underside of the hood. (If you want to for symmetry, you can order the same seal and install it on the right side, with a minor mod to make a hole for one fastener.)

ok thanks everybody i asked the question because i replaced the hood after hail damage i thought the body shop lost a piece.
