Yeah, it's a Jeep thing. My husband isn't fond of Jeeps due to their reliability history and thought the lifetime warranty would help. I drive 20k-25k miles a year and getting the warranty was an incentive for me to get the jeep. They certainly didn't make much money on the warranty short of whatever kickback they get for selling one.
He has spent enough time rebuilding my wrangler and wasn't keen on the concept of having another Jeep to spend countless weekends and $$$ in a year and half when the 36k mile warranty runs out.
