when I spoke with my assigned CS rep at Chrysler yesterday I asked her if there was some type of RSS feed or website or sms system that I could subscribe to to get updates, she laugned and politely said no.

The waiting definitely sucks, but I don't think this is a very fair statement. I highly doubt you'd get a much better experience from any other volume manufacturer (high-end brands like Rolls Royce excluded of course, where everything is custom).

The problem is that these systems aren't built for tracking one-off, custom orders. There are status updates, but for dealer stock, it's just not that important to know exactly when a specific vehicle is arriving, or if there's a delay, to know exactly why.

Not saying the system shouldn't be improved... I was frustrated beyond belief while I waited... but it's not a problem unique to Chrysler by any means.

Re: How accurate is your estimated delivery date?

In 2005 I tracked an ordered Volvo coming from Sweden. I could see the boat crossing the ocean on the internet. That was 5 years ago (like 200 technology years). So I disagree. Chrysler just sucks.

We appreciate your comments BUT you received your vehicle in 2 months Mashie has been waiting since July and a number of us since mid Sept. with information, other than Milous's, that leaves a lot to be desired to put nicely! ! !

I understand... I admit, I'm a bit confused by Mashie's order. The signature says Saddle and Tech Package, which wasn't even available for order until the middle of September.

I wish I knew what the holdup is. I assume Chrysler underestimated the demand for Overlands, Saddle interior, the Tech package, or all 3.

The "Chrysler sucks" and "this is why they went bankrupt" comments just rub me the wrong way. This is definitely not why Chrysler and GM went bankrupt... but that discussion is definitely off topic!

I'm just happy to see Chrysler building products again that people actually want to buy. It's amazing how quickly they're trying to update their lineup. Unfortunately, I think that's part of the problem...

Re: How accurate is your estimated delivery date?

as I have posted in other threads. the original order was placed on 7/19. I modified the order on 9/22 to include tech + saddle. At the time the order had not even been updated yo D status so however i have been using 9/22 as my order date but in Chryslers order system it states 7/19 as the original order date.

Yep confusing I know..

Thanks for clarifying. I hadn't seen the other threads... was going by your sig with modified 7/22.

I really do hope you get your WKs soon. It's definitely worth the wait!

yep no problem and don't get me wrong, I am actually not mad at Chrysler. I might be a bit frustrated at the lack of information but I knew when I changed my order to saddle + tech that it would probably delay my order (I went in eyes wide open).

My biggest frustration is with the sheer lack of information. I don't know of any other industry where you place and order and it basically goes into a black hole until one day when your order shows up on your doorstep. In this day and age, I was just surprised at how little anyone knew or was willing to share from the dealer to Jeep customer service. It wasn't until they started building the Jeep did I start to get any relevant information.

The dealer originally gave me an estimated delivery date of late Sept (on the original order) when mid-Sept came and went with no change in the order (according to the dealer Chrysler had not even "picked up" the order yet) I went ahead and changed it and he gave me a new "estimated delivery" of mid-November. When Mid-November came and went no one was able to give me any relevant information which led me to search our my own information and it led me to this wonderful site and you amazing people. I have gotten more information from people on this site then I got from the dealer or Chrysler combined . Unfortunately, thats sad, IMO we shouldn't have to search out this type of information on a $40k purchase.

I know it is what it is and I am patiently waiting for the WK2 to show up and my excitement has not been diminished in any way. I have been driving GCs for 15+ years and that will not change for a while, but I hope that the next time that I place my order for my 2021 GC that there is a more automated information system that can provide customers real time updates on inventory levels, proactive notifications when dates slip and real time monitoring of the manufacturing process

Re: How accurate is your estimated delivery date?

I've got 6 days until my estimated deliver and my Jeep hasn't even begun being built yet according to this site or anyone I call at Chrysler. 12/22 Estimated sounded perfect.. but now its sounding like a cock tease instead =(

Re: How accurate is your estimated delivery date?

I just got off the phone with my dealer. According to them, my Jeep is built. Now it needs to be shipped or whatever steps are done after that. I don’t forsee getting it on the 22nd – he seemed to think the last week of the year.

So I guess that’s good news. I just want it so badly. I’ve literally been trying to get this Jeep since the early summer and wasn’t able to place my order with Saddle until the end of September.

It’s odd how the main Jeep line doesn’t know this info, but my dealer does .I’ll take what I can get. Just glad to see its moving.

^^+2 you are so right...I also went to storage today and the dealer could not tell me why...did not have a clue. Chrysler Info line would not give me any info told me to call my dealer. I thought I was pissed waiting 3 months, "Mashie" has been waiting since July. I am going to need some REAL info before weeks end or I am going to rethink this whole deal
well Chrysler just told me that my Jeep has also been shipped to storage and I should expect it to be there for at least a week and I should not look to see the GC until mid-January

She said it is in storage for "extra quality checks"

augh...
