I was afraid of that....we still have not heard from Chrysler or the dealer, he said he would call first thing this morning. Looks as if we can throw away the Big Red Bow and Ribbon.

I wish someone could explain why "quality checks" take two weeks. I can't imagine it taking more than a couple of hours. I don't like being mislead or lied to, and I don't like how we can't get a straight answer. People will tolerate a lot if customer service is excellent. On the flip side, they will rag on you even if you have a great product if you don't treat people like you care. That is why I have said I'm not surprised that Chrysler has not done well in recent years. If I get mine in mid-January, that will be 4 months from order to delivery, or 1/3 of a YEAR (for a mass produced, domestic vehicle). I could probably get a limited production, hand built European exotic in less time!

My biggest frustration is with the sheer lack of information. I don't know of any other industry where you place and order and it basically goes into a black hole until one day when your order shows up on your doorstep. In this day and age, I was just surprised at how little anyone knew or was willing to share from the dealer to Jeep customer service. It wasn't until they started building the Jeep did I start to get any relevant information.

The dealer originally gave me an estimated delivery date of late Sept (on the original order) when mid-Sept came and went with no change in the order (according to the dealer Chrysler had not even "picked up" the order yet) I went ahead and changed it and he gave me a new "estimated delivery" of mid-November. When Mid-November came and went no one was able to give me any relevant information which led me to search our my own information and it led me to this wonderful site and you amazing people. I have gotten more information from people on this site then I got from the dealer or Chrysler combined . Unfortunately, thats sad, IMO we shouldn't have to search out this type of information on a $40k purchase.

I know it is what it is and I am patiently waiting for the WK2 to show up and my excitement has not been diminished in any way. I have been driving GCs for 15+ years and that will not change for a while, but I hope that the next time that I place my order for my 2021 GC that there is a more automated information system that can provide customers real time updates on inventory levels, proactive notifications when dates slip and real time monitoring of the manufacturing process
Mashie, I totaly agree with your gripe about lack of information! This is 2010 for chri'sake. What else can you buy for $40k +, wait for months for it and not know whats up with it? (Except for great information from Milous). I, like most of us, went through with this aggrivation but the up side is, once you have it you'll love it! Took delivery 12/4, ordered 9/21.
