How do you know it's a V8?

Just picked up my overland. I like it! Was just wondering if there is a way to tell its a V8 from looking at the exterior of the car? I don't see any badges.

I'm not sure about the exterior, but the plastic cover on top of the engine will say what it is.

As for anyone seeing it on the road, they'll know it's a V8 when they see your back gate getting smaller ahead of them...

I popped the hood and saw the Hemi plastic cover. Wonder why they never made a V8 badge or something like that.

Look under the hood.

Probably because these days people associate V8's with poor fuel economy and what not. So maybe they thought advertising that on their vehicles would give a bad impression.
As for me the V8 is amazing, but as far as badges I don't care either way. Infact the more badges on the back of the car the more cluttered I think it looks.

Re: How do you know it's a V8?

Other than popping the hood...

If you see a "flex fuel" badge on the tailgate, its the Pentastar V6.
If you see an "Ecodiesel" badge on the tailgate, its got the diesel.
If no engine badge is present, either its been debadged or it has the Hemi V8.

Typically I would agree with this - I don't like seeing bumper stickers; badges; etc. all over a vehicle, especially mine. I added a Hemi badge to my '14 Limited, however, as it just felt like it needed it. Plus, I want to take every opportunity to piss off Prius drivers who might be sitting behind me at a light.

Several forum members have added Hemi/V8 badges to their rides - see these threads: HEMI Badge - Gonna add one to the 2014; Installing a 5.7L Hemi badge on rear if you have a V8?

Re: How do you know it's a V8?

My 3.6L doesn't have a flex fuel badge either.

Does that mean it's really a V8?
