How good has your Jeep been to you?

Just wanted to give Kudos for a great brand. My wife's Jeep Liberty Limited has never failed us and being 7+ years old now and 52,000 miles, still looks like new even living outside, infotainment system faultless,2 tone leather still great, just a nice truck.
My 2011 JGC Laredo was bought new as well as the Liberty, heavily loaded with leather, infotainment system, panoramic sunroof,(main reason I opted for this and not a Limited was I wanted the dark wood option and love the Metallic Green color),26,000 miles and looks like new still, again, living outside, never had a days problem with it,I thought the keyless push to start system may be problematic, but nope,no problems with either.
My wife's came with the lifetime power train warranty and we opted to buy a lifetime wrap around warranty, bought the same wrap around warranty on the JGC,never had to use either,(consider myself real lucky on that but good to know we have them).
1990 Wrangler, now THIS is the little engine that could!Over 200,000 and still a strong little Jeep, second clutch, second repainted,no rust underneath and still a real pleasure to drive, only upgrades I really did to it(well what I paid to have done) mild lift and wider fenders to accommodate the 35's it has run on for 170,000 Miles now.Sure we are on the 3rd soft top,but again lives outside.
My point being, all 3 Jeeps have been superb and continue to be so.
I excluded my 2015 JGC as like others electrics, especially the 8.4" screen has been glitchy to say the least, but the truck DOES show promise.
Anyway, how have your Jeeps treated you over the years?Figured it would be nice to have a thread for longtime owners that have enjoyed their Jeeps.
By the way, knowing Jeeps like I do and reading so many forums over the years I consider myself very lucky I have had the pleasure of owning 3 Jeeps that have never failed us and given us no problems.

Re: How good has your Jeep been to you?

I've been pleased with my MY12 Summit. Outside of one issue with QL that was fixed under warranty, I couldn't be happier.

It's still early for me. 12000 miles and not one problem. Someone keyed the whole drivers side but that's not mechanical

Well you do live in Chicago, I wouldn't expect anything less.

I have had a crap ton of Jeeps and honestly, I do not recall a single issue with any of them. Well maybe a couple minor things with the WJs, but nothing serious and nothing more than little things that are all fixable yourself. Granted, none of my Jeeps have been with me for probably over 2 years, but they have been outstanding vehicles. I have no complaints whatsoever.
Here is a list of the Jeeps I have owned in the order I have owned them throughout a 20 year period. Plenty of other brands in the mix as well but those don't apply here :-)
-1993 Cherokee Classic 4.0
-2000 Cherokee Sport 4.0
-2005 Grand Cherokee Limited Hemi
-2008 Grand Cherokee SRT8
-2012 Grand Cherokee Overland V6
-2002 Grand Cherokee Overland 4.7HO
-2004 Grand Cherokee Overland 4.7HO
-2014 Grand Cherokee Summit Hemi
-2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude V6

Re: How good has your Jeep been to you?

I'm driving my first Jeep (and Chrysler), a 2012 Laredo 4x4 with 55K miles. I bought it used two years ago with 30K. A couple of months after I purchased it the ABS module threw a code and I had it replaced under warranty (the part would have been only about $140 otherwise). It has been flawless since.

I love my Jeep: as tall as it is, it feels as responsive as a large sedan and is a pleasure to drive. I can punch the accelerator in the rain and the full-time QT-I 4x4 just grips pavement and goes. The V6 pulls our popup camper (2000+lbs loaded) and all our stuff with the kids up hills with no problem, and pulls at 70mph on the (flat) Interstate under easy power. The sedate 5-speed "knows" when the camper is there and goes into a much more aggressive shift strategy, which is like having an extra 100hp.

It is like part of the family; everybody loves it at this point, even if it did start "treating us wrong."

Re: How good has your Jeep been to you?

Thanks for the replies so far,it's good to know others enjoy the brand, and that you guys, like us,have had a lot of trouble free motoring,it's said they grow on you,but me,I loved the styles straight out the gate, having several different models,as noted by you guys as well,I personally think it's a great domestic made vehicle, often overlooked, but driving something that started 75 years ago gives me a sense of pride owning them, can still remember sitting on the bumper of my grandpa's a Jeep, drinking a soda wondering what a fu**ing mirror was and asking my grandma what it meant!!!Boy did my grandpa suffer! Some 40+ years ago now,.......when times were different!Anyhoo, thanks for the replies,I like to hear from other good people, still have his 1963 Jeep Wagoneer in the garage, wife wants it gone but..........you know.
Gotta admit,am alittle sore my 2015 JGC has electrical bugs, but based on other Jeeps I own,I'm optimistic it'll be fixed,(8.4" screen glitchy).
Anyhoo,waffled enough.Thankyou all!

What is it with people? Back in 78 I had a Trans-Am maybe 2 months old. Same thing happened. I couldn't understand why someone would do that. My mum said..... jealousy.

30K since I picked up mine and I'm really happy with it. Some minor stuff here and there that at the time was a pain to get fixed. The TPMS sensor issue dragged on forever and the same was happening with the check engine light but the 4th or 5th time that it came on and went off was that last time.

Overall I'm happy.

Re: How good has your Jeep been to you?

Our '14 GC Limited with Hemi, QD2, and Quadralift has almost 13,000 miles and has been perfect since it was delivered in Sept. '13.

Re: How good has your Jeep been to you?

I've never had any serious issues with the 4 that I've owned.

2009 GC SRT8:
Squeaky brakes
Owned it from 4k -16k miles

2012 GC Overland Hemi:
Squeaky sunroof fixed but the dealer screwed up other stuff so bad I ended up trading it in on a BMW after 5k miles.

2014 GC Overland Hemi:
Best vehicle I've ever owned. Put 52k miles on it. Never once could I complain about this one.

2015 GC Overland Pentastar:
At 14k miles. Some small issues.
Left hand pull, needed an alignment instantly after purchase. Needs alignment again-pulls left at high speeds.
Transmission slips when shifting from 1-2 when cold.
Transmission won't use 8th gear above 78mph.
Driver's door is creaky upon takeoff.
Front suspension is very creaky when going over speed bumps or other dips at low speeds.
AC isn't as cold on LO vs 68(ish) makes no sense.
AC makes hissing noise when turning on or slowly accelerating randomly.

So my 2015 has been good, it just has several small annoying issues. Still pleased with it overall.

Re: How good has your Jeep been to you?

My 2005 GC has been fine(ish) so far since I got her in 2013 used. 161k miles on it. The only thing that is worrying me is the noise it's making. Hopefully changing the transfer case fluid fixes it. Other than that she will last me until I could afford a WK2 oneday.

Oops.....my bad wrong forum. Didn't realize this was a WK2 thread until it was too late.

I have one of these, pretty much identical, delivered in August.

Only issue was the motor on the ELSD had to be replaced. Just got a light one day, took 'em a week or so to get the part.

I also got a dead spot on the back up camera, which was replaced. This was a net win, the new one was much brighter.

I've had all (2? 3?) the recalls done.

I enjoy heating the house by burning all of the spam letters from lemon law lawyers.

The Jeep is amazing.
