How much are you paying at the pump to fill up?

I'm kind of a statistics nerd when it comes to MPG. My last car got really good mileage so I was curious how much of a hit I would take moving to the Jeep. Pictures show my mileage since purchased in May (I don't drive a ton). All this includes price per gallon.

ETA: 87 octane, almost exclusively Mobil.

But is the waiting in the Costco line worth the few dollars you're saving? I used to wait in line at Costco all the time but my wife and son did the math and it just wasn't worth the extra few dollars you save when you count the time you spend waiting. The only time I get gas at Costco is around 7:30 am at Airport Blvd. because many times I can just drive up to a pump.

The last time I went to Costco not in the morning was a few weeks ago when I had time to kill. Someone started honking their horn like crazy in another line. Finally the Costco person went over to them and there was a yelling match likeyou wouldn't believe. Someone "cut" the line and went to the pump in front of another person. Yikes.

By the way, Chevron in San Francisco was around $3.35 and in San Jose $3.21 the other day.

Yep, I've never waited more than 2 to 3 minutes at Costco by me... well worth ~10 bucks savings to me... Pay for a quick lunch somewhere

The Costco by me is either the same, or at best a couple of cents cheaper than the ARCO AM / PM which is only 2 miles away.

Re: How much are you paying at the pump to fill up?

I've never waited more than a couple minutes at any of the Costco's I've fueled at, both locally and while traveling. No different than any other station in that respect...

No waiting at the Redwood City location since they added the 4 extra pumps (8 extra filling stations) about a year or so ago. When they first opened gas at RWC after the store was torn down and rebuilt the wait was a bit long, but I never wait more than 1 car deep even at the busiest time on weekends. I was at the SSF location on Airport a few months ago, and I can see what you mean there. The wait was probably 15 minutes and I was about 6 cars back so it was really slow. They need more pumps there but I don't think they have room to add more.

Re: How much are you paying at the pump to fill up?

Just beat me MMAG4x4. Reading through this from an Australian point of view your fuel is cheap but the grade/quality is not so good. Just doing some sums if I can calculate correctly AUS fuel works out to be US$4.90/gallon currently in Western Oz. But our lowest fuel grade it 91 octane. We also have 95 and 98 octane so hard to compare as seeing here 87 octane is priced.

What is the highest octane fuel available in US from gas stations?
