That just makes me insane. Here in Northern Cal medium grade is $3.05 at Chevron. I'd love to pay literally HALF that amount. However, we need to pay tax for this and tax for that. On top of that the governor wants to add even more tax "for the roads." I thought that's what the other two taxes were for, but I digress.

I'd gladly pay for that tax if it meant I didn't need to pay city tax in ny where the roads are completed dog shit

Yep it's always crazy here in the Bay Area for gas prices, especially since the major refineries in Richmond are less than an hour away from much of us. Taxes just kill the prices here.

I moved here 25 years ago and I think the cheapest I can remember gas was around $1.30 back in 1990. Can you imagine paying $1.54 here?? That would be very cool. I fueled up at Costco last week and it was $2.65 then for 87, and they are easily $.40 to $.50 cheaper per gallon than anywhere else.

Re: How much are you paying at the pump to fill up?

Remember everyone saying the days of cheap oil were gone forever? Probably the same guys who were driving to the coin shops in their Smart Cars to buy silver at $48.00 an ounce........ What's in your safe?
