How much are you paying at the pump to fill up?

Hey guys and gals,

I just wanted to see how much gas was across the country and how much are you forking out at the pump. I've had the vehicle for about 2 weeks now and been content with the way this thing consumes gas. I've heard many WK owners complain about their vehicle being a gas guzzling machine and had the question mark when I got our wk2. However, thus far its been pretty good. I must say though, the V6 is equivalent to our GX470's V8 as far as gas consumption goes. None the less, all the attractiveness make up for the gas lol. I wouldn't drive anything else.

Anyway, filled up with 87 @ $3.99 from empty and paid $72.

I have been running the tank pretty low so in the $70's. Last time was $79 @ $3.59/gal. I have had some gas pump shock, but it is attributed to the larger gas tank. I had a 2000 JGC previously and when it was low it took 18 or 19 gallons. The WK2 has a larger tank (24 gal) so I am easily putting in at least 22 gallons. Therefore easily another $10/tank. All thinks equal then no real difference.

2009 3.7 WK 3.90 something was costing me about $74. last me 4 days

Next week will be in a 2011 Prius costing about $35. To fill up. Last me almost 2 weeks. LOL

My plan is to pay it off in 3 years and get a WK2 SRT for play time.

Been doing about $75 to $79 once a week.
Last night it cost me $79.00 to fill up at 3.69 a gallon for 20 gallons.

I usually take it down to just under a 1/4 tank then fill up.
Did this with my H3 (19 to 20 mpg on her) for 6 years and each week was about 18 gallons. The Jeep is averaging 20 gallons each week.

For the next few days I am going to be light on the gas just to see what I can do to the MPG. Last week I was heavy on the gas as I am really enjoying the HEMI .

Gas is $3.79 for the 'cheap' stuff here in Dallas. I'm able to run errands for my business a couple times a week for which they give me $50 per trip one trip is about 60 miles. This is so far paying for my fuel trips we will see how long that holds up. Kind of ironic that I have to drive my car more to save my own money at the pump

Some of these gas prices are really making me jealous. I have not need to fill up this week, but as of right now gas is at least 4.19 a gal in the Chicagoland Area for 87. No one can completely explain to me why we have the highest gas prices in the nation.

Also I fill up out in the burbs. In the city proper it is around 4.49 per gal right now for 87.

This is why I have the Costco Amex card. I can take advantage of $0.10 discount per gallon (only at Costco locations) and get 3% cash back when I use the card to purchase fuel including non-Costco gas stations. That really adds up at rebate time - to the tune of a couple hundred $$$.

But of course, you need to live near a Costco to really take advantage of this.

Don't hate me, but the last time I filled my Hemi Overland, I paid $1.849/gallon for 89 octane. My local Giant grocery store has a gas station next to the store, and they give points when you buy stuff in the grocery store that are good for money off per gallon of gas. You get 10 cents off for every $100.00 you spend on groceries, plus they are always having specials on various items, so if you buy certain items you get an additional 20, 30 or even 40 cents off, and it's stuff that we would be buying anyway. The last time I bought gas, 89 octane was normally $3.649/gallon, and I had enough points to get $1.80/gallon discount. I usually let the points build up as high as I can before I use them, but they'll expire if you don't use them by the end of a 2 month period, so I usually get one tank of gas every 6 to 8 weeks at a ridiculously low price like this.

gasbuddy.com is a great site for tracking gas prices across the nation, it's very helpful if you travel away from your home area much. They have a great Android phone app that makes it easy to find local gas stations and prices, and also to report prices.

As to those $75 limits, my credit card doesn't have a limit, but I have run into stations that have that kind of limit (back when I had an Avalanche w/31 gallon tank and gas was where it is today). I hate having to do two transactions just to be able to fill up. I don't understand what purpose the limit serves, when there's nothing stopping me from simply swiping the card again and starting a second transaction just to complete my fill-up. I try and avoid those stations whenever possible, but that means I have to remember which ones they were!

about $4.23 around the bay area. approx 22 gal fill up hits the $93-95 number. Can't wait til it goes over $100 per fill up.

I do really enjoy being able to get nearly 500 miles to a tank w/ the V6 on the highway though.

Made a trip from San Jose to San Luis Obispo last weekend, drove around town and down to Avila Beach and back to San Jose on one tank. Plus another two days to and from work. Nice!

Watch out for those grocery store discount promo's. Each area seems to have one grocery chain which is allowed to run it. Around here it is Price Chopper using Sunoco. Firstly, Price Chopper charges more for basic items than other main chain which is Hannaford. Secondly Sunoco per gallon prices start before "discount" generally 10 cents per gallon more than other vendors except Mobil (who appears to import their crude from Venus.)
