Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

I've owned my jeep 9 months, 8800 miles. It's been in the shop for over two weeks. Transfer case was replaced but didn't solve the problem and created new ones. Before that it was in for three days with a faulty keyless button on tailgate and hood sensor for the alarm. I'm not terribly happy.

Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

1) Since February 24, 2011
2) ~6000KMs/3700 miles
3) "Key not found" message when passenger door is opened then closed while vehicle is running if I have the fob in the center cup holders. If I keep it in my pocket I don't have the issue. An interior trim squeak that I'm still trying to pinpoint.

Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

1) Since May of this year
2) 1200 miles
3) May have the dreaded "thunk" in the steering wheel at low speed. (intermediate shaft?) Other than that, nothing. Has performed very well even though it's been hotter than hell here this year....(up to 110) Love it so far... : )

Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

5 months
8000 miles
5 air suspension failures

I'm 1200 miles from home and the QL just crapped out again. Going to start the lemon process when I get home next week.

Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

1. Eight and a half months old.
2. 29,500 kms (about 17,700 miles)
3. Chrome lock button on rear license plate brow replaced and armrest iPod connection fixed, and TSBs applied, all back in March. No other problems and I drive it a lot.

Simply a joy!

Near 2 months and 2200 miles. Build date of June 2011.
Overland w/ 5.7L, rattle in the glovebox area and B-pillar where the seat belt anchor is located. Otherwise trouble free.

For those that have and are having issues, has this changed your thought process? Ie: do you regret buying the vehicle? Were you hesitant about reliability before you purchased the jeep based on issues with past models?

Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

11 months, 15,500 miles, and 1 compressor replaced. No regrets, still love the truck, and haven't had any issues since compressor was replaced 5 months ago.

Its a shame they could not replace the transfer case without creating other problems. Have they made any headway in getting your problems resolved?

Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

I have owned two WK2's the first was a Limited 3.6 and now I have a 5.7 Overland. The first one right from the start had a rubbing noise at 5mph after spending weeks in the shop and replacing rear brakes, rear axle and axle shafts then rear prop shaft, rear wheel bearings and finally the transfer case the noise was gone. Then after this it was in for a drivetrain vibration replaced the front prop shaft. Finally after 3 months of in and out the shop it was fixed, then two weeks later I got rid of it. It had various software updates for better performance which did improve it. So then I got my overland First week it had a bad compressor for the air suspension and then I had a rear axle shaft replaced cv boot leaking grease and also steering intermediate shaft for a thud in the wheel. These were all simple one day repairs nothing like the first one. Overall I love the vehicle this is just an honest list of the problems I had. One thing I know for sure is in the future no matter how much I like a vehicle I will never ever under any circumstances but another first year model. Even now going into the second model year there still seems to be some issues they are working out.

Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

1 - 11 Months
2 - 4000 Miles

The AC compressor came loose which caused some of the mounting bolts sheared off. This caused the side of the serpentine belt to shred, catch on moving parts, and fling off.

Was towed and fixed by Jeep. The shudder issue was fixed during the same service call.
