2011 Overland V8 4x4

1.) Purchased in Mid Dec
2.) 6k miles
3.) The only issue I have had was BT audio streaming but that was fixed with the latest TSB that I applied myself. Zero issues and love my ride.

I will replace this with a newer model when Jeep decided to get off its butt and put in a good and updated media center. Something not cerca 2001.

Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

Laredo X package
Hemi with Select Terain
4 months old 2500 miles
In 4 months car has been in for service 6 times.
Water leak twice, windshield and back lift gate glass replaced was told defect from factory glass was cut too small.Dealer damaged car while replacing rear glass and they had to send car to auto body shop for repair.
Dark smoke from exhaust at start up when car is hot, it happend only 4 times so far.
Rattle from rear trunk which is still not fixed still having annoying rattle.
Still very very unhappy about the touring tires that came on Jeep even though they state On/Off road tires.
Those tires are a real deal braker for me on my next vehicle when my lease is up.

Thumbs up Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

Overland hemi - picked up in the end of March.

Just under 10k miles.
Very few complaints. Very nice ride.
Towing a boat is very nice, but mostly spend time on the road, not hauling tow toys, and/or building materials.

I am in the auto industry, so I am quite critical:

Knocking suspected, went away when I stuck with mid grade. not sure how much longer I will stay with this routine - may move to every 3rd tank because I am a cheap-o, and expect this thing to last 10+ years (as I do with all every-day drivers).
Dealer to replace right rear seat cover, the stitching is broken on a seam, from new, and I have no time to take it to the d-ship and park it there for hours.
Under the hood, they used paint pen on every connection in their final inspection (blue in color) and at $40k, they could use something that wont show to the customer.

Other "things" that were fixed: the rear left seatbelt had blue paint pen stains on it - dealer fixed.

The plastic trim that was moved around now does not have quite the perfection look it had when I picked it up.

How do you have access to and how can you apply TSB's yourself?

Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

V-6 Engine

1) How long have you had it? 4 months

2) How many miles are on it? 15,000 miles

3) What kind of issues have you had if any?

I replaced my lifted 2007 WK with this WK2. I love my WK2 but ran into a major problem last week.

Out of service for a week

I not happy that they have to tear apart the engine, front suspension and transfer case to replace the cylinder head for a defective valve. I am concerned that they may not get it all back together correctly.

Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

2011 Overland V8 4x4

Bought in June of 2011 and built in June of 2011. Currently at 2000 miles

1. Replaced intermediate shaft at 500 miles due to clunk in the steering.

2. Replace trim around start button at 500 miles. The new piece still doesn't fit well.

3. The driver's side window washer leaks fluid. I haven't had this addressed yet.

4. The driver's seat is starting to break down in the back support. You can hear and feel crunching while sitting in the seat. I'm 6'1" and 210 lbs. I haven't had this addressed yet.

Overall I'm still on the fence about this Jeep. My plan was to keep it for at least three years, but if little stuff keeps coming up I will have a hard time doing that.

2011 Overland V6
2 Months (May build)

Lost all Sirius presets, once.
Vibration at 50-60 mph. More pronounced on inclines.
Other than that, love this machine!

Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

2011 2.6L Overland
13000 miles since end of November
besides normal TSBs:

replaced rear glass wiper assembly
shorten wires under driver seat
panels around liftgate were popping out, straightening clips fixed that
GPS died, radio unit has been replaced

for pkmak, rear wiper motor cover was causing rattling sound in trunk area for me, since replacement it's gone

Re: How Reliable has your WK2 been? Post up!

2011 GC Laredo X / 3.6
10 Months – 4500 miles
Built 7/2010

1. Rolling RPM. Poor shift quality. ( TSB 18-012-11A)
2. Issues with Media center.
a. No AM radio
b. USB port in console will not play iPod (in 3 times for this)
3. Sloshing sound under vehicle. Replaced fuel tank. (TSB-14-002-11)
4. Driver’s inside door handle binds and creaks
5. Paint cracked on front bumper cover. (Passenger side near fog light)
(Repainted twice as 3rd party body shop did a miserable job painting it the first time)
6. LEDs in front doors inoperable.
7. HVAC issues that I am still trying to sort out.

Vehicle has been out of service a total of 23 days. NY State Lemon Law is 30 days. Anybody want to wager a bet? Now I remember why I never buy the first model year of anything. Had my ’04 not been totaled October 2010 I would not be $40k in debt and on a first name basis with the Service Manager. Oh yeah, this is also why I am a lifetime member of this great site!!! Keep up the great work and support. There are people like me who are going to need all the help and support we can get.

Anybody got tequila and salt? I'll bring the lemon.
