Re: How to cancel factory order without losing deposit

Just received a call from dealership, vehicle has been fixed and was delivered on Sunday. The salesperson said vehicle was looked over and prepped and is now ready to be picked up. He told me the repair was completed, and assured me everything looks great, but did not know what needed to be repaired. He said some report will be available on Jan 2nd with that info.

I'm not going to accept the vehicle until I find out what had to be fixed. Is it possible that no one at the dealership currently knows what happened? And is unable to make a phone call to find out?

In any case, even if they did tell me, I'm going to independently verify by having the Jeep inspected at a body shop. Now to figure out how to arrange that...

Re: How to cancel factory order without losing deposit

I'd have to see the whole tracking, but it looks like we just held it in inspection for a while.

No issues here.

If it was damaged in transport, you'd have "KZOG"... not just "I".

Don't believe everything the dealer tells you. There's another thread in the Durango section that's not too far off from this one.

Marlon_JB2, I'm pretty new to the forum, does the Specialist under your username mean you work for Jeep? Also, I don't think I put the VIN in my post. Were you able to find it just by location and ORA2 pkg? Or did you talk with Milous?

Re: How to cancel factory order without losing deposit

Yes. You need to see my badge? Tee hehehehehehehehe.

If it was in transport, it wouldn't have been in I status. I status means that *we* still have it and haven't shipped it yet. So there's no way that it was in Massachusetts when he said it was.

Milous? Help me out here.

Could we have found something during inspection that needed to be repaired?

Happens all the dang time... which is why it was held for so long. Heck I've sent vehicles back that were 2 minutes from shipping!

Re: How to cancel factory order without losing deposit

I really hope what you're describing is true, that would be ideal. That's very different from being damaged in transit.

Could my dealership be that clueless though? They have access to something that told them it was in my state unless they were looking at another vehicle by mistake? Btw, VOTS still shows it's in Shipment stage even though it's was delivered this weekend.

VOTS is slow. Dealership lied to you.

This is so simple.

Re: How to cancel factory order without losing deposit

Sucks that your dealer is keeping the deposit. My dealer refunded 100% of my deposit after I canceled my order. I did make sure before giving the deposit that there's was no penalty for canceling.

Hope you get this resolved.

I'd seriously consider telling them you'll be in to pick it up after looking at the report they will have for you on the 2nd.

hopefully the dealer's service department is better than the sales department.

Re: How to cancel factory order without losing deposit

Done! Sales guy just returned my call, let him know I won't be signing any paperwork until the 2nd, after I go over the report. He said that the people he would get the report from are unavailable until then, otherwise he'd give it to me now.
