Try Westbury or Port Jeff...had good luck with both

The interior had no wear (looked new) and exterior had no scratches and the paint still looked new. The price they put on it on their website was $20,999 which was almost $3,000 above retail kbb price. I have no idea how much they sold it for. I'll definitely be using this dealer (Woodhouse in Blair, NE) for any future purchases.
Sounds to me like you benefitted then from their bad decision. I'd venture to say the Jeep sold for significantly less than their asking price, unless they found somebody else to make a bad decision...which is possible.

You can try Westbury, or Port Jeff. They all seem to be better than Smithhaven, which is the absolute worst dealer I have ever tried to buy a car from!

Westbury being one one the bigest Jeep dealers on the east coast should be able to beat most other dealers on price with their large monthly sales volume but I found them not really willing to do so. They seem unwilling to compete with smaller, hungrier dealers on price, unconcerned if you press them with a better deal from a competitor. Port Jeff has been hit or miss for me depending on which sales manager is there to approve your (low profit, if you did your negotiation well!) deal or how late in the month it may be.

Good Luck!

I don't see how it's a bad decision on their part. They could come down in price $6,000 and still make $750 on it. They probably made more than that though.

They mail out the package on Fridays. So if you sign up today, get it by Monday or Tuesday. I got mine the Monday after I ordered it.

Yeah, the Prius we sold when we got the Jeep. I wound up selling it to Carmax, but I did list it on these sites and got a TON of calls. I just didn't have the time to screw with it...

If it sat on their lot for 6 months...it was a bad decision. It costs them money to insure, costs them money to have their money tied up in inventory, etc. No skin off your nose, you did great I'm just saying others can't expect to get more than KBB excellent value for their vehicles...in reality fair to good is all you're likely to get on trade for a car.

Same thing happened with our Prius, Carmax WAY overpaid me and I knew it at the time. My car was the most expensive one in the country, I know because I did a lot of research. It was worth probably $11,000-$11,500 private party, maybe $12,000-13,000 dealer. It was really nice and like new too. They paid me $10,500 for it...and tried to sell it for $18k! It was only $26k new, and this was 7 years old and 85k miles. They reduced it and reduced it and finally sold it for $13k I think...thats what it was listed for anyways when it finally disappeared. Carmax won't haggle.

Re: How to negotiate

Well I said 4 months, not 6, and it might have only been 3 months, I can't remember. I've only had my WK2 for 6 months and they sold my WK in the middle of winter. But I get your point.
