Good morning, my now 3 week old 2011 Jeep GC experience has been very good so far. One of these days I will update with a picture or two.

My question is what is the best way to tell if my car is up to date on TSB's. Speciffically tranny and other important stuff.

Mine is a 3.6.

Someday soon will be looking at adding OEM hitch, cross bars, maybe dual exhaust and tune. Been doing a lot of reading.

thanks

Concerning the TSBs that is going to depend a lot on the dealer you go to. Some(like mine) just do the outstanding flashes with out asking, most will want you to be experiencing one of the issues related to the TSB and others it is battle even if your car is obviously showing the related problem. Typically TSBs are for issues you maybe experiencing, people that go into a dealer with no problems and a stack of TSBs saying perform these usually don't have a good dealer experience. Sometimes applying flashes to vehicles that have no problems will induce a problem so some dealers are shy about applying them. But like I said very dealer dependent mine just automatically performs any outstanding flashes when I happen to be in there or if I ask them to solve an issue, other dealers I have been to don't know how to spell TSB, strange little pieces of paper they are not sure what to do with or where they came from. Bottom line with these dealers is if you have an experience you don't like don't bother arguing just walk out the door and go to another one, the good jeep dealers are few and far between but they are out there.

Thanks, one reason for asking this is because going up a slight hill and accelerating from maybe 20 mph in auto mode I seem to have a dead spot on pedal push until I push the gas pedal more and then it drops a gear and away it goes. I did not know if the dead spot was typical of the TSBs that address the tranny issues.

I was at the dealership the other day to fix a heated seat issue and they said they applied updates.

My dealership is Herb Chambers is Danvers.

thanks

You can sift through all of the existing TSBs at the link below and see if any apply to your issues. If you find one print it take to the dealer and describe to them the exact problem and ask them if they will perform it, sometimes they need a little helping in the right direction. Not sure if you are still under warranty or not but they can charge you if you are out of warranty. TSBs are not like recalls, you don't have a right to them for free after warranty, again dealer dependent some will just flash as part of good service visit. Good Luck

Any dealer service department can run the VIN and see what TSBs have been applied against it. When I had mine in recently for service, during the write-up, one popped up as needing to be done automagically...

I have to say that from an IT-standpoint, my dealer certainly is up to date. The moment I drive onto the service-lane, they plug something into the lower dash and have all the info on a little tablet - along with my info and service appointment details I provided when I scheduled my service online.

My dealer service department also has the tablet setup now...
