Question Huge Price Range for Mods

I have been researching some potential mods and I am just lost with the WIDE range of prices. For example, Rock Rails from Rocky-Road are like 400, from 4xGuard they're 630 and from Mopar it's 800 easy... Then as for skid plate/skid guards. Its the same thing. A little smaller of a range but still a 100-150 variance between the high and lows. This makes me worry that the cheaper ones are of a lesser quality, but then again they swear by them and have warranties. I just don't know what to think. What do you all think about that stuff?

Re: Huge Price Range for Mods

Unless you are some pro rock crawler with your jeep, the cheaper ones are the way to go. If they look the same, no one really cares if they are the Mopar or Rocky-Road.

I would go the cheaper route.

Re: Huge Price Range for Mods

OE accessories are always going to be higher, but they may also add to your value, and have a warranty. I didn't know other skid plates exist? Also didn't know about 4xGuard.

Re: Huge Price Range for Mods

I don't really know these brands, but my past experience has been that the third-party skidplates from companies that supply to off-road enthusiasts are more robust than the corresponding OEM products. You might want to check the companies' testimonials and do some web research, but I wouldn't assume that OEM means higher quality.
