Re: I almost left my GC on all night.

It will shut off after 15 minutes with remote start.

Re: I almost left my GC on all night.

I left my '14 Overland V8 on for more than an hour but it was locked and the key fob was in my pocket, it was very hot when I got back (AC was off) but nothing bad happened... lesson learned, make sure it's off before leaving it!

Is that with OEM remote start or the aftermarket remote start?

In my case, I have a habit of turning off the radio, climate control and then the engine in that order.

Twice I left the jeep running and both the times my mind was preoccupied with something. Maybe I was busy picking up my cell phone or something, opened the door, shut it, pressed the lock button on the door handle and walked away. And both the times, it was during the day. So, the dash's darkness was not noticeable.

So, the radio or illumination of the radio did not remind me that it was still running. The engine is so quiet that I hardly would hear it over other traffic passing by if parked in a parking lot near a busy street.

Cheers,
-A

Re: I almost left my GC on all night.

Two or three times my '12 has not turned off when I pressed the button, I shifted to R the back to P and it would turn off. On a bright day with sunglasses on the tach is almost invisible. Guess the modern system makes a runaway impossible. Right.

Re: I almost left my GC on all night.

You can leave the jeep ideling all day in 100 degree temps with the a/c on high and it won't overheat. I know this from experience as I drive a Durango for work. Same motor etc as in the jeeps whether v6 or v8. I believe u can have a dealer input a setting that will turn off the engine in certain time frames after the key fob is not detected and the vehicle is in park.
