So I just got married this past weekend (yay!) and I decided to go ahead and add my wife to my insurance. So I decide instead of adding my wife online I would call Geico and add her. Well needless to say I just had my mind blown. I was made aware of Geico own extended warranty. Its only offered to the first owner of a brand-new vehicle. The warranty will start as soon as the factory warranty is up on not only my GC but my wife's Journey too. I was fretting for a while which direction I wanted to go in purchasing an extended warranty for both of our cars but the rate Geico is offering can't be beat. Hopefully I won't need it but Geico says they'll honor any Chrysler dealer in the US and it covers all mechanics of the vehicle (engine/trans/ac/rear end/etc...). All in all I can say i'm thrilled. PS.....still loving my GC!!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Make sure you very carefully read their contract... ;) There's a reason that so many of us only recommend the Mopar MaxCare Extended Service Contracts. And linking the coverage to your auto insurance also means you are either stuck with that insurer if your needs/situation changes, or you lose it when you move on. That said, if their arrangement meets your needs, that's what counts.

And congrats on the marriage!

Married? Hell man, if you were tired of having sex you should have just said so straight up! No need to get drastic. lol

Q: What kills a woman's sex drive?
A: wedding cake!

Just busting your balls while you still have them. Congrats to you and Good Luck to your new wife. Seriously, check into the Mopar MaxCare. Read both policies(?) contracts, whatever carefully and compare before committing. Best of luck.

Congrats!!!

The problem you will find with warranties other than the MFG is there will be a delay on the repairs. They will have to get approval before the repair can be made. So what happen about a rental car. Do you have to pay for that up front? Plus there is always small crap they don't cover. Shop supplies, fluids, or other crap. Unless the price is several hundred cheaper I would pass. Been there got the shirt.

Most 3rd party extended warranties come with a deductible, but are cheaper than the extended manufacturer ones. Obviously they aren't useful for "cheap" repairs, but since most parts on newer cars are unbelievably expensive and dealer labor equally so, it might not be so bad.

You can extend the Chrysler/Jeep factory warranty (no deductible) for any increment up to 7/70K for (I think) around $1K per 1 year/10K. It isn't that simplistic, you don't have to go 1 year for every 10K miles, you can have less miles if you don't do a lot of driving.

Lol you guys are funny. I'm having Geico send me a contract of what is and what is not covered as well but per my phone conversation the only drawback I can see is the deductible is slightly higher than the Mopar Maxcare warranty. However the upfront costs are much lower and both of our vehicles are covered. PPS.....Pics of the wedding will be here soon. The GC was our "getaway" vehicle leaving our reception. :D
