thanks - that was what i was afraid of, i will need to bring it back to those incompetent a-holes

and i didn't know it was that labor intensive for that, no wonder my headliner is all f-ed up- stupid tech probably was in rage mode fixing it.

ETA: that extra part that I found looks like the old one, the shape is different as it doesn't have that handle like thing on the side.

UPDATE: Jeep dealer called me this morning and they're currently doing a full detail ext/int on my Jeep, I even found a f-ing footprint on my trim...plus got a future credit for an oil change. We'll see if they do this correctly or not.

As for the piece of plastic ring, they confirmed it's the old part. The Service manager said he will address it with the tech and he apologized too.

Read the TSB and wow....that is a quite the procedure. Glad mine is not affected. That part was the old part as it doesn't have the blue R or L printed on it.

Thanks for the update, seems like your dealer is stepping up, good for you! Mishaps happen in any business, it's how you handle them that matters, it's a great time for them to show you that they care and value your business...can't wait to see if they clean up good, happy for you this will turn out to be fixed and addressed!

Yea i'm really hesitant to do the sun visor recall. I have black interior but still, i wouldn't want them to F with my interior.

in hindsight, it's probably not worth it. the headliner needs to be pulled down and tons of steps involved

Even though I'm happy with the current Jeep dealership I go to (I'm on my third), I just recently had my leaking radiator replaced under warranty on my 2014 Overland 4x4...and a couple days later when I popped the hood to add windshield fluid (the light came on), I noticed radiator fluid all over the engine compartment, the intake tube clamps at both ends were completely loose, and the electric radiator fan shroud was not connected on the drivers side. I immediately fixed everything myself, and called the service manager...he apologized up & down, and awarded me a complete inside out detail on my Jeep in the Spring.

Good observation. Everybody is a star when there are no problems. Dealing with the problems when they arise is another matter. Sounds like the dealer in this case is being decent and fair.

It's really sad this needs to be spelled out in the instructions. I used to work as a mechanic. I always treated each car I worked on as if it were my own. Some mechanics are good, some are butchers. It's the luck of the draw when you get your rig worked on. Luckily, my dealer has be very good so far.

So I've turned in my BMW x5 and picked up a 2014 GC Overland. Overall, no question, made the right move except for one place.

My Jeep dealers service department is a joke compared to the BMW dealership. I know many of you are itching to jump and insert the latte joke here's but they were knowledgeable, courteous and always customer centric.

My Jeep dealers service agents couldnt agree if I could make an appointment for an initial oil change, whether the car could be left behind or if I need to wait for it. The penultimate question was whether you could stream music to the system from the rear USB ports. I might as well have asked them to solve nuclear fission.

With all that said, I'm enjoying my GC but I'd like to suggest a different spin. Let's see if we can come up with some dealers who deserve to have our loyalty and associated revenue. If you have one, let us know, I would love to spend my money with a service department that doesnt leave their best police department fingerprints on my investment...
