I test drove a 2013 JGC Overland today and have a question

It has the 5.7 Hemi but no 4 wheel drive and of course, was RWD only. It's the first time I've seen this configuration. Is that configuration common? Any idea how many were made this way?

It has 47,200 miles on it. White exterior with saddle leather and black interior and a rear DVD player. It's listed at $30,495.

Good deal or not?

Dan

As far as I know the GC has always been available in a 2WD configuration. Couldn't give you production numbers but they're not uncommon in the southern states or any other state that sees little to no snow.

LOL... I know you'd never find one on a dealer's lot up here where I live.

Yep- You see more 2WD vehicles in my part of the country than 4WD. I have the 2WD Hemi and except for the recalls I've been very happy with it.

Re: I test drove a 2013 JGC Overland today and have a question

Thanks y'all. I d/k, it just struck me as unusual as almost all if not all of the JGCs have been 4WD and I've looked at scores of them over the last 3 months or so.

Discussed it with my wife of 50 years just a few minutes ago and she said "I d/k. I guess so."

Will go over the offer today and give them my offer and see what happens.

Re: I test drove a 2013 JGC Overland today and have a question

I bought a 2014, white with tan interior. They stopped offering the saddle leather interior in 2014 and my wife and I were sorely bummed - we love that rich brown color!

I just paid just over $31k out the door for a 3.6l 2wd 2014 Limited with every single comfort/luxury option (LuxII, technology, ect) and only 16k on the odometer.

Your deal seems a bit high for the 2013 considering the miles and the dramatic improvements made to the 14+ models.

I'm in Charleston, SC.

Re: I test drove a 2013 JGC Overland today and have a question

Ha! OP you make it seem like its something out of this world. LOL. Yup, they are pretty common in the warmer states. You see em here and there. I'm not going to lie since i got mine i pay attention and 1 out of 3 is RWD and the rest are 4x4.

Realisticly, i was going to get mine 4x4, but deal fell through. Gave em the finger and went elsewhere. Couldn't pass up on the deal they made on the RWD. Another thing too, the tow rating is higher on the RWD - 7400 opposed to 4x4 - 7200. (Source: Jeep.com)

The reason that the tow limit is slightly higher on the RWD is that's about the weight difference when you remove all the fun stuff that provides the front half of 4x4.

Re: I test drove a 2013 JGC Overland today and have a question

Got it today. Drove it home(2 hour trip) and enjoyed every mile and minute
The dealer was outstanding. No add-on costs. New G/Y Forteras (I know, not the best tire) and a new Interstate AGM battery. Out the door for $24000 and my 2001 F150 SVT Lightning that has 120,000 miles on it. Paid $10000 cash and financed $14000 at 1.95% for 36 months.
