Re: Ice Damage - Ouch

People are skeptical because the amount of expansion from water to ice isn't that great. If that brick melted, it'd be a bunch of water. Something else happened.

The base of the flare toward the skirt is perfectly attached if he hit a snow bank that would have been the first part to break loose. We had some insane weather where it literally sleeted for 2 days straight.

Not sure why you guys don't believe this when people's are just falling off and coming loose without ice or snow involved at all...

If you truly believe that it was mother nature that did this then I have a house in tropics to sell you lol. No way does that happen by natural cause, there was some human interaction there. We rain/snow might quite a bit and never heard anything like this happening.

That's not frozen water, that's compressed snow. No way is that from expansion. He is full of it.

Ice Damage - Ouch

The driving into a snow bank is more far fetched... I had 3 inches of this compressed snow covering my whole car after the storm. Never seen anything like it. The rain compressed the snow so quickly as it fell.

All I'm saying is unless he flipped his jeep over going reverse there's no way hitting a snow bank did this. There are absolutely no signs of it. The frozen object entered from the top rear of the flare... so come up with a better scenario if you think this couldn't have happened.

Do you really believe that water somehow pooled in a fender and froze and did this? Vehicles have used plastic trim bits for ages and I've never heard of anything like this. I don't know what happened but I am certain this wasn't from freezing water.

I don't know what to believe but I've seen these fender flares come loose and fall off for no reason at all... all he needed was a small section to not be sealed properly and a chunk of packed snow sliding off the hood or roof to catch it and get jammed in there. It's not as far fetched as it sounds and if you were around this past week when we had the storm you wouldn't think it's impossible either.

A lot more believable than driving into a snow bank like some suggested...

I think you're missing the point. We're all saying that it somehow got wedged in there. The part that NOBODY believes is that somehow there was enough water behind there to expand that much. It's just not possible.

Thank goodness I only saw the short video clip and NOT the hour long video. Had I even watched a half hour of this individual I would have already called the "Sopranos" and had more than his fender flare frozen solid..........

Re: Ice Damage - Ouch

He ran out of videos to post on you tube?
His neighbor was gonna use the snow to clean his mouth out but decided better of it and tried to hide it in his fender flare?
You had 3" of compressed snow on the entire car even the sides?
Why would anyone(original OP) be following him on youtube?
Why would he make a 1 hour long video of this?
Being a Jeep He decided to drive over an iceberg?
How does he think a fender Flare should be attached?

but water expansion did not do that.
