Re: Idling in "D" or "N" - more economical?
I used to use N at lights with the TF-727 and TF-999 in my CJ to keep them cooler. However, it's actually bad for some of the newer automatic trannys, as the fluid is not pumped when in neutral, meaning there's no cooling going on. Our 2006 with the Daimler tranny actually says in the owners manual NOT to put it in neutral for this reason.
