Re: If You Cancel a Summit Order What Would You Buy?
Guys- i saw the word Touareg on this forumn and almost vomited. For the love of god, don't buy a Touareg.
I bought my wife one about 3 years ago. Beautiful car. Metallic blue, had the burbon interior, all the goodies. Worked great for about 4 months.
First thing, battery dead. No biggie, i'll just run to the local NAPA and grab a new one... nope, all the ones at NAPA, except the one that's $225 will not fit. OK, fork up $225. OK, off to change the battery. Wait a minute, the battery is under the front seat (bad on Jeep for doing this too BTW). ok, off to remove the seat. Nope, too many wires, etc, take to local VW garage guy, pay $145 to totally remove the seat and install a battery. That was the first problem.
Second problem. Driving along, enjoying life, POW!!! WTF... maybe it was just a one time event. Going from 55- 45 approaching a stoplight POW... almost whiplash.
ok, maybe just a small problem. nope, dealer says, "probably a Valve body ($2,400) but if that doesn't work could be an entire transmission". how much would that cost 'approx $5000". Holy crap, are you serious?
ok, maybe we can ride it out for a while... tuning on the emergeny beep, airbag default, ok, maybe we can ignore that one, nope, another beep, rear tire pressure warning (tire pressure fine). so, everytime you start the car, huge loud beeps, nothing kind quiet beeps, freaking loud.
so this is just the tip of the iceberg (i dont have time right now to keep listing the problems). i ran it through the local auto acution and got $10,000 for it. i could have cared less if i got $4,000 for it. it was the biggest piece of sh*t i have ever owned. they look great, but, beware, the are a piece of ______.
