Graphics and screen resolution are light years better (not to mention it's an 8" screen). The Sync system also uploads a vehicle health report via satellite and will text message your phone when your vehicle needs servicing and gives you multiple methods of scheduling an appointment. The Sirius travel link is awesome too. Can pull up 5 day forecast, weather radar of surrounding area, surrounding gas stations with gas prices, surrounding movie theaters with movies playing and times, plus much more.
I thought we're supposed to get the Sirius Travel stuff with the 730N RHR? I know they need an update for the 430Ns.

+1 for the 8" screen and for voice-activated climate control

Re: If You Cancel a Summit Order What Would You Buy?

Guys- i saw the word Touareg on this forumn and almost vomited. For the love of god, don't buy a Touareg.
I bought my wife one about 3 years ago. Beautiful car. Metallic blue, had the burbon interior, all the goodies. Worked great for about 4 months.
First thing, battery dead. No biggie, i'll just run to the local NAPA and grab a new one... nope, all the ones at NAPA, except the one that's $225 will not fit. OK, fork up $225. OK, off to change the battery. Wait a minute, the battery is under the front seat (bad on Jeep for doing this too BTW). ok, off to remove the seat. Nope, too many wires, etc, take to local VW garage guy, pay $145 to totally remove the seat and install a battery. That was the first problem.
Second problem. Driving along, enjoying life, POW!!! WTF... maybe it was just a one time event. Going from 55- 45 approaching a stoplight POW... almost whiplash.
ok, maybe just a small problem. nope, dealer says, "probably a Valve body ($2,400) but if that doesn't work could be an entire transmission". how much would that cost 'approx $5000". Holy crap, are you serious?
ok, maybe we can ride it out for a while... tuning on the emergeny beep, airbag default, ok, maybe we can ignore that one, nope, another beep, rear tire pressure warning (tire pressure fine). so, everytime you start the car, huge loud beeps, nothing kind quiet beeps, freaking loud.
so this is just the tip of the iceberg (i dont have time right now to keep listing the problems). i ran it through the local auto acution and got $10,000 for it. i could have cared less if i got $4,000 for it. it was the biggest piece of sh*t i have ever owned. they look great, but, beware, the are a piece of ______.

Exactly! I've had a Cayenne and a Touareg and neither gave me a lick of trouble. However, I would never own either naked (without warranty) nor would I own ANY vehicle listed in this thread without a warranty of some sort, including the Overland. Just way too many things that can go wrong due to the complex nature of these new SUV's.

It's that way because 99% of the people buying them (and the Grand Cherokee Overland's too, I suspect) are not offroad enthusiasts and VW decided to build and supply the vehicle 99% of their customers said they wanted. Word is that there will be a special offroad package available if there's enough interest.

That's a barcode sticker slightly rolled up.

You could say that about almost all the SUVs listed in this thread. Most people aren't going to use them off-road. That being said for people in the U.S. who want SUVs with true off-road potential, whether the are going to use it or not, the Touareg is no longer an option (along with the X5, Mercedes GL, Lexus, etc.) It has been turned into another grocery hauler for the U.S. market, which is just fine for most people. The VW dealer told me that 4XMotion would not be available on VWs as the Cayenne platform is available for those who really want to option in the more expensive all wheel drive system and suspension.
