If you were to give up your GC today, what would you get?

I find myself thinking about this questions a lot. If I had to or had the ability to get out of my jeep GC today, what would I purchase next?

There are some pretty amazing looking cars/SUV's out there and even better ones coming down the pipeline (check out the Lexus NX). However I havent fallen in love with any thing that I have been seeing on the road (within a realistic price range).

Curious to hear what other options everyone else might be considering.

I'm on my fifth Grand Cherokee so it's highly likely I would get yet another Grand Cherokee if I were to give this one up.

Hubs works at Lexus so I've had several of those along side my Grands but would never give up my Grand Cherokees. :)

Ditto.

IMHO, there are FEW vehicles that can match or even come close to the features of the WK2. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a capable, feature rich SUV that can handle On Road along with Off Road tasks with easy.

Most other SUVs can do one OR the other (On Road/Off Road). Few can do both well.

In fact the only others I can think of are the 2014 Range Rover Sport & the Porsche Cayenne Turbo/Turbo S.

If I HAD to pick a vehicle other then a WK2, it would be one of those!

Excellent question - I think about this a lot; not because I dislike my Jeep, but because I like cars. Right now I'm enamored of the '15 GMC Yukon Denali; BMW X5 xDrive50i; Mercedes GL550; Audit Q7; and, last but not least, Jeep GC SRT.

My answer to which car I like best is the same as Carroll Shelby's - "the next one".

its sad....but in the $65-70k price range I bought my SRT for...there is absolutely zip that appeals to me.....

less than that price....maybe an Overland....LOL. pretty sad time we live in IMHO

IT depends on what you want or need
As for me and needing a good tow vehicle and 4 x 4 vehicle i will go for a Toyota Land-cruiser even though they are much dearer here in Australia

As for things like BMW x5 Lexas or such i would never consider these in Australia

Probably a Porsche Cayenne GTS, loaded to the gills and way overpriced. But I can dream.

If really given the opportunity to have ~$100K though, it'd be very hard to turn down the WK2 SRT and just do all the things I want on the Cayenne myself and probably save about $10K +.

I'm just really impressed with all the technology and precision the Porsche has. Including their willingness to please the customer with all the mods from the factory as options.

I'm a Jeep lover through and through, but if I HAD to choose other than Jeep, I'd have to go with the Range Rover Sport.....Those things are pretty dang sharp, I have to say. But that being said; my dream car/cars would be the Jeep Rubicon or Overland. I like a 50/50 ratio of on road/off road capability....More off road with the Rubicon of course. It's a tough choice. For now, it's all about what I can afford. Some cars these days are almost as much as homes, and personally, I'd rather own the driveway.....If you know what I mean...lol

Sorry to throw in a bit of *dream car* wishes into this, as it seems like it wasn't intended to be so.

I just constantly drool over the SRT and imagine what I'd do with that kind of spending money and how it relates to other competitors.

I'd get a 2015 GMC Yukon Denali. I love the new look and interiors of them. Plus having a larger SUV would be helpful. Once my lease is up on the Jeep in two years, I fully intend to go this route. Of course that is two years away, so my plan may (probably will) change.

Mercedes Benz ML 350 or 63 AMG
Mercedes Benz S 550 or 63 AMG
Mercedes Benz SL 550 or 63 AMG
Land Rover Range Rover
Lexus GS 350 F Sport
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

These are my choices not in exact order but I would go with a Mercedes Benz first over any of the listed above. I am planning on getting the ML 350 when the lease on my 2014 Grand Cherokee is up.

I would get a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. It has the same features as my Grand Cherokee while having better fuel mileage and the 4500 lbs towing capacity that I need. Its probably what I would have bought had it been available at the time I bought my 2014 Grand Cherokee.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Grand Cherokee. Its just sometimes I wish I had a bit smaller, more nimble, vehicle... but then I need to tow something or haul something or drive in a bad snow storm and I remember why I bought such a capable SUV...

Seems this thread became more like what your dream or unpractical car you would get. I think the point was what car would you have if not the JGC. For example i would have a prius.

Yea that will be the day!!!! For me it would be a different luxury suv in same price range. (You know which ones)
