Influence of Gas Prices

Assuming Jeep doesn't offer incentives for the V8, as gas prices continue to rise.... at what price would the price of gas influence your decision to purchase a V6 or another brand with hybrid capability?

Re: Influence of Gas Prices

Not applicable is not offered? Not being flippant, but I was buying a V8 SUV with expectation of substantially higher gas prices. We really don't have that much of a choice.

As others have said many times, perhaps a turbo diesel would be a better option, bring it.

Re: Influence of Gas Prices

this vehicle is used for a daily ~50 miles commute. on weekend it can tow my little trailer or a bigger. get a dual functionality of "school bus" for kid and "toy hauler" in weekend is perfect...it was jeep or G37awd-s + truck with cummings. so the jeep was actually a more conservative option. gas price? i can't get a prius to tow 5k pounds... so every vehicle has its purpose... surely using 1 ton dually as a commute vehicle would be expensive, irresponsible. So I guess I mark the highest 6.50, but in all honesty i would have to review my priorities when the gas hits $10+/gal.

I need that option just now!

Nearly $10 over here. I had a 1.6 Mondeo before my V8 and I'm only using about another 10 a week in comparison. Thats just down to the driving I do.

The way I see it, is that we are all getting raped at the pump, so we might as well enjoy the ride and drive something that puts a smile on your face

Re: Influence of Gas Prices

Yeah, I think this poll was definitely only for Americans or those living in America. Step outside of that country and gas starts above your most expensive choice. I live in Korea and it's north of $8/gallon and climbing.

Gas here isn't too expensive, and i love when people will choose to go to another gas station because it is 10-20 cents cheaper, how much money are you saving? how much is it costing you to look for cheaper prices?

Re: Influence of Gas Prices

I plan of buying my next vehicle cash, and paying my insurance yearly. I do that now, why break a good habit? So I simply won't care too much how much gas is or how much my car uses.
