Installing Tow Hooks on 2014 Grand Cherokee
This information supplements the data on the existing posts for this subject and provides a description for removing the lower front grill assembly. I found this to be the most difficult aspect of installing the tow hooks. Once this panel was removed the tow hook installation was very straight forward and went according to the instructions provided with the Mopar tow hooks.
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4 X 4 V-6 - Removing Lower Front Grill Assembly
• Place a moving pad or large heavy blanket on the floor under and in front of the lower grill assembly to protect the grill after it is removed.
• Remove the seven quarter-turn plastic fasteners located on the rear bottom of the lower front grill assembly. Three of the fasteners are in the bottom center area and two are located in each of the right and left wheel wells.
• After removing the seven fasteners pull straight out to the side on the left and right edges of the grill assembly to disengage the plastic tabs that are inserted in slots at the bottom of the upper grill/bumper assembly.
• Disengage the remainder of the tabs located on the top of the lower grill assembly by pulling on the bottom in an out and upward motion towards the front.
