Re: Insurance Premiums

Allstate in NJ $750 for 6 months....$1000 deductible + Accident and Moving Violation forgiveness....probably and extra $150 for that perk.

I'm with La Promutuel. Insurance is quite cheap in Quebec though as it's gov. regulated.

Re: Insurance Premiums

there are tons of variables with insurance but here are some

1) Cars on policy - 3
2) Age - 25
3) Driving record - Clean !!!
4) State - TX
5) State minimum coverage - 25/50/25
6) Mine - 500K/1MIL/500
7) Other drivers - 1 Older
8) Accidents in past 3 years - NONE
9) Credit - No bankruptcy
10) Company - State Farm
11) Color of cars - Black, Blue, Silver
12) Types of cars - SUV, 2 door coupe, 2 door coupe
13) Anything else on policy - Home and Life

Now with all those variables added to the equation

My Jeep payment is only $25/month with that type of coverage

Re: Insurance Premiums

I went from a 2008 JGC Limited to an 11 Overland (msrp were about the same on both)and thru StateFarm in PA my insurance went up $15 a month.SF says it cost more to repair the 2011's and that's why the cost went up.

Your in Alberta, so no PST for you.

Also, does your insurance protect you against vehicle depreciation in the event your Jeep is totaled? Mine does. I'm covered up to 5 years. So between now and the next 5 years, god forbid, my Jeep get's totaled, they will replace it with a vehicle the same price I paid for my Jeep.

Forgot about PST...lol. Yes I have the depreciation...wouldn't have a vehicle over $40K without it. I also have grand touring covering me for up to $60k for the replacement value of rented or borrowed vehicles.

Re: Insurance Premiums

I switched from a 2008 Honda Accord Coupe to a 2011 Laredo X valued at 2.5x the Accord and my 6 month premium went down about 10%. I was kind of surprised.

Re: Insurance Premiums

@ jmp42: mine went down from a 2008 MB C300. That was shocking too as the Jeep is worth more because it is newer. Go figure.

Re: Insurance Premiums

Mine went from $536.00 to $572.00 every 6 months when I got the Overland Hemi. That is for 2 vehicles, a 2008 Liberty Limited and a 2008 Wrangler X Unlimited before, to the Liberty and the 2011 GC Overland with the Hemi. My wifes' commute went from 85 miles each way to zero at the same time, so that accounts for part of the reason that it didn't go up too much.

Re: Insurance Premiums

For my 2006 Hummer H3 loaded I was paying about $1150 a year.
For the 2011 WK2 Overland the price was $950.00 a year.
All of this was with Farmers Insurance. I had my truck and my house with them so I had a discount.

I called GEICO and guess what... I saved a bunch on my auto insurance.

Now I am paying around $780.00 a year for even more coverage on the WK2. They said it was because of all of the safety features on the Jeep that it was so low.
