Amica came out on top.

It may still be $800 in the end, but I really should change based on ratings I see around. I'm sure they all use similar data.
It never hurts to shop around.
I prefer to pay a bit extra if necessary to have a local agent I can ask stupid questions of and get help on issues should I need it.... but if their rates get higher than I can get at another local agent company by much, well--been nice doing business with ya.

Cheer up. That could have been a male driver similar age.
Being ancient, dunno if any companies still give discounts for genuine driver training programs for the youngsters. One company back whenst I was young/green had a heart attack when I asked if Bob Bondurant driving school diploma could get me a few bucks off--they dumped me almost immediately.

One way to save in that situation is to agree to restrict the young driver to one car. If they are allowed to drive any car then the price is higher.

The more expensive the car, the more you insurance will cost. It's tough to compare insurance prices without posting your coverages, deductibles, and the state you live in, not to mention your driving record. In my experience, you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay a little more and be insured with a reliable company that I know will got to bat for me when I am in an accident and pay claims in a timely matter.

There was no change in insurance from 2014 Limited without Tech to 2015 Overland with Tech.
There was a 25% change going from 2015 Overland with Tech to Summit (Tech Included). The Difference in MSRP between Limited and Overland was way more than the Overland and the Summit.

What matters MOST is the index. My wifes VW CC cost almost half of what the Overland cost and was 5 years older. But still cost more to insure.

Same coverage, same location on all the above.

The Index tells them what it will cost to insure this Vehicle. Including Cost of Parts, Labor and Bodily Injury !! If you are more likely to get hurt (based on stats in Vehicle X than Y), it will cost you more. Regardless of Crash Rating. They base it on actual statistics.

Doesn't actually batter what the car cost.

Re: Insurance Rip-Off for ADDED safety features !!

Take this for what its worth. My insurance for my 2015 Jeep SRT (Registered in Manhattan) was 110 per month.

Got the Hellcat Charger and it doubled to 220. lol

I asked why this was the case, as I have excellent credit and driving history.
The dude on the phone said, I can give you 707 reasons why.

We have every available discount including "good student", etc. Trust me, I "shopped 'til I dropped" to get the best rates available to me at the time. And my homeowners dropped over a grand a year with this switch which made up for a nice chunk of the increase for auto. It is what it is....

Most companies don't do that--I asked the list that I got rates from. Even if she had her own policy, the fact that she lives at home (as any 17 year old should... ) affects the rates for the other vehicles simply because she "could" have access to them. And we couldn't honestly restrict her to only "her" car because there are occasionally times when we have to switch for functional reasons.

AAA is a consortium of localized "clubs". And remember, that insurance is "state specific" so for me, the coverage in PA might be different (and underwritten by a different firm) than someone in another state. I'm a member of AAA Mid-Atlantic (and have been since I graduated from PSU back in 1979. Being a long time member actually bumps the discounts, too.

Is that the AAA auto club?? I'm in Chicago. I'm really interested in that home insurance discount.
