I'm not sure about the resale of an equally equipped V6 vs. V8, but I would think there would be more demand for the V8 when it comes time to sell it. There's always going to be a market for both versions, but I think the majority of people would opt for the V8, given a choice.
Does anyone here have hard yearly sales figures for each engine? I'd be interested to see them.

I would think the V8 has a better resale too, given the gas prices don't sky rocket.

Approximately 80% of the 2012 Grand Cherokee builds (Laredo/Limited/Overland) are V6...

Laredo = 96% V6 / 4% Hemi
Limited = 75% V6 / 25% Hemi
Overland = 44% V6 / 56% Hemi

Kinda makes me wonder if that's good or bad for Hemi owners lol.

I debated this for a while. The numbers told me a V6, my last GC a while back had the V8 and it was great.

I went with the V6. Getting used to the acceleration say unto the highway. I had been drving BMW's which have great torque so it's an adjustment, but's due to that and not that I feel it's underpowered.
