I haven't see the 1.9% extended to 5 years for Overlands or Summits. BOA can do something like 2.4% for five years with good credit. I got 1.90% for three years on my Summit through a dealership.

Re: Interest Rates

Check out Pentagon Federal Credit Union (PenFed), which is currently offering 2.49%. I was able to finance my Overland at that rate with zero down for 60 months.

My dealer said he couldn't match that APR, so I felt pretty good about going with PenFed.

Re: Interest Rates

I just got an Overland, the dealer went through US Bank and got 2.55% for 60 months for me. Good credit and I put 20k down.

Penfed.com

Just got approved for 2.49%

I'm pretty happy with that, plus the dealer can't run my credit 17 times now.

I told them on my Corvette to ONLY run it with gmac and they said ok then proceeded to hit my credit 7 times...can't trust them. I'm coming with checks in hand this time.

Re: Interest Rates

Yes, you have to donate to one of their two options if you have no affiliation ($15 or $20 tax deductable). They are good causes anyways. Beyond the donation, it only takes $5 to open an account. You have to do it all online to get the discounted rates.

I opened an account with $20 and applied for a loan in the same session. Two days later I was approved and its good for 90 days. Rate is whatever the current rate is when you execute the loan. Hopefully my darn 2012 shows up while the 2.49% is still around...

Wow, 2.49% would be great! Anyone know how stringent the qualifications are? I don't have a ton of credit history being only 27 years old, but my credit score is very close to 800. I'm thinking about signing up and applying. My 2012 Overland is coming in soon!

I tried refinancing through PenFed for my 2009 Volvo...got approved for the loan no problem, and then I received paperwork requiring a $500 deductible on collision/comprehensive. I carry a $1000 deductible to keep insurance costs down (which is important in Mass.), so I requested that they approve the higher deductible. I was approved but it took them so long (over 2 weeks) that I cancelled the loan. I sent in the cancellation paperwork 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for the loan to be removed from my account list. I'm getting concerned because I set up auto-pay and there's no way to cancel it online.

Hope you have better luck with their customer service than I did...

I've used PENFED for four vehicles and NEVER had a problem. Approved instantly, got the check the next day and the rates are always extremely competitive. I've never used USAA (my normal bank for banking etc.) because PENFED always beats their rates. You'll be happy you used them.

Did you have to change the "standard" loan terms on any of those loans?

Just relaying my experience...I'm sure the process is straightforward if you don't have to get people involved too much. In our case, the application online was quick and the approval was immediate which was great. It then took several days to get the loan paperwork, and when I saw the $500 deductible requirement we requested a change to allow us to have a $1000 deductible. We were first told no so we requested cancellation of the loan. We were then told we could request an increase in the deductible. It then took several days to them to figure out what they needed us to send them for a deductible change request, and then several days to send us the needed paperwork authorizing the increased deductible. All the time our effective date on the PFCU loan did not change so we were effectively paying interest on two loans, the original one and the new one.

The rates are definitely great...on the refinance, we were looking at saving about a payment in interest. It just was not worth the aggravation after a while.

To make matters worse, I have to take additional steps to cancel the loan because PenFed is saying that they did not receive the paperwork. Guess I should have sent it back by certified mail return receipt...ugh.

In all honesty I was surprised to have service issues with PenFed but there you have it.
