Interest Rates

Anyone here have any success with interest rates lower than what Jeep is advertising as incentives? I'm trying to plan ahead and will be picking up a GC in a couple weeks. Currently, the website is showing 1.9 for 36, 2.9 for 48, 3.9 for 60 and 5.9 for 72 (all assuming a Limited of Overland). I was hoping March 1st would bring some lower rates, but clearly that didn't happen. Any ideas what might get a lower rate?

Re: Interest Rates

My dealer was offering 1.99% up to 72 months through a local credit union.
I took the 1.9% for 60 months through Jeep (Ally) on my Laredo X.
I would check with a few of your local dealers to see if they have any financing deals in place with local banks/credit unions.

Re: Interest Rates

Agree with mgreen, as well as check your bank, and local banks. Jeep offered me what they offered you, I went through my bank and they offered me just over 3% for 72 months

Re: Interest Rates

Credit Union FTW. 1.99%
Just look around locally for good financing then go into the dealer and pay "cash" and haggle them down on the price as far as possible.

Re: Interest Rates

The best deal I got was through Chrysler (Ally). 3.0% for 60 months.

Re: Interest Rates

Interest rates are going to depend on a number of factors and with the incentive rates it's different by model. Laredo's get lower rates the Overlands with the incentives. The biggest factor will be your auto credit (different from your regular credit score). Posting the rate you got is pretty much useless considering the variables of credit worthiness and location.

Shop your local banks and the online sources like Capital One, Chase and up2drive.com (division of BMW). Get pre-approved and find out which has the best rate then tell your dealer the rate you have and let them see if they can beat it. Just make sure you do this all within 30 days of actually taking delivery or all the inquiries will end up lowering your credit score. If you shop rates then take out a new loan within 30 days (45 for some companies) all of the inquiries are grouped together and counted as one. If you do this more than 30 days then all of the inquiries that occurred before the 30 day cutoff will count individually and will drop your score, sometimes by as much as 20 points.

Re: Interest Rates

I went with 2.9 with bank of america also. They seem to be best. Check out bankrate.com to compare different lenders.
