Great read.

I work for a US manufacturing company. We have five factories in the US and have just made the $1B sales mark. 48% of our products are now sold outside of North America. When I joined the company 20 years ago it was less than 10%. We are another happy story of how manufacturing jobs (and all the engineering / technical / marketing / administration jobs that go with them) can be kept in America instead of moving offshore.

My wife and I purchased a 2014 JGC Limited in November of this year. It is the first brand new vehicle we have bought since 1981. It replaces a 1997 JGC that we purchased in 1999, which has served us well. We looked at Acura, Lexus, Subaru and BMW before settling on another Grand Cherokee. Besides the car's stunning beauty, functionality, value and (I hope) reliability, we bought the car in the end for another compelling reason: Made by a US company in the USA.

Everyone talks the talk about buying American but you've got to walk the walk...and we did. Thus far, we couldn't be happier.
