I see no point in getting the diesel unless you are a fanatic. It's more expensive, more expensive maintenance and more things to go wrong. But that's all highly subjective, I understand.

Exactly what I was referring to! Sorry, I posted in the middle of the night half asleep, haha.

Also the reason why I missed where he said "Diesel overland" key word being overland, so no acoustic glass.

Re: Interior engine noise 3.0 vs 3.6

^^ I thought all of them have acoustic glass now? Atleast on the front windows I thought I read that they do. Before it was only the Summit that did, then I think they started doing it on pretty much all trim levels. And now the Summit gets ANC in addition to the glass. I know we are talking about Overland here, just stating.

Re: Interior engine noise 3.0 vs 3.6

I don't know about the Laredo or Limited. I know the Overland has an acoustic windshield but not sure about the front doors. The Summit has an acoustic windshield and all 4 doors.

Re: Interior engine noise 3.0 vs 3.6

i got my diesel - i really like the low grumble and 1st gear noise

but in reality, its really quiet all around

I didnt even test drive the thing - wanted to be be able to leave emotional decision making out as much as possible

Re: Interior engine noise 3.0 vs 3.6

In the 2015 Overland, we have the acoustic laminated front door glass as well.

I'm not a Diesel fanatic. This is my first Diesel engine and I can't hear when inside the cabin when idling. But when I open my window, I can hear it. It's not silent, but not annoying.

Loving the torque. Surprises people how quick this one can go from a stop.

^^^I feel the same way. Some people like the diesel sound and some don't. In the end, do some research and get what you like.

My 3.6 (2015 so a bit different then the 16 & 17) it sounds very much like an old diesel tractor when started in the mornings. I hate that

Possibly a little exaggeration But it is the most unrefined sounding vehicle I've ever owned for sure, no exaggeration.
