Intermittent FCW light

This past weekend I took my 8K mile, 4 payments made overland summit out to the Mounds in Mt. Morris Michigan to get a little dirty, which I did, got good and dirty. Only apparent damage was I lost the chrome strip on the leading edge of the front air-dam.

Not the problem.

Driving home. use the ACC like usual, it turns itself off after i get the clean forward sensor warning. also the FCW light begins to come on sporadically random BRAKE! warnings and the ACC repeated turns itself off and becomes available. ok. So i take it the quarter car wash and get the major junks off, then run through the regular car wash. sensor is clean, however.....

Same condition, intermittent ACC shutoff, FCW warnings and BRAKE! warnings.

Any one else had this happen?

Re: Intermittent FCW light

Maybe you scared the hell out of it and it doesnt want you driving it anymore. Try the good old disconnect the neg battery cable, might reset it. I work with some expensive machine and killing the power seems to be the fix 99% of the time.

Re: Intermittent FCW light

I had the same conditions you are talking about, after I hit a coyote!
I found my problem was that the sensor had "poped" out of it's mount all I did was push down on the sensor and it snapped back into place. I haven't had any more problems with it. Good Luck
