Re: Intro and First Jeep

Every time I see a new color I've not seen in person from other owners, the more I am convinced you cannot make a bad color selection. That red is beautiful. Thanks for taking time to snap some photos and more important, the tremendous impressions the GC has left upon you. Especially given your obvious penchant for fine German automobiles, it is interesting to read what you thought of the vehicle after having been behind the wheel for a while.

I agree, the lines on these GC's are beautiful, they really nailed the design. That carries over to the interior too. I hope you continue to enjoy the vehicle. The GC looks right at home in all of those photos. Great choice

Re: Intro and First Jeep

Thanks guys. Another thing I'll add that I love:

One thing I used to really appreciate about BMW, for instance, is that they went the extra mile with the "little" things, adding all kinds of convenient design cues or options that I would call "feather in the cap" options. You don't need them, but it's nice to have.

That's exactly what I'm loving about the Jeep right now. For instance, in no particular order:
The fact that you can recline the rear seats!
The lit cupholders
The lit door handles using the same soft blue light.
Rear vents, controls, USB plugs, AND power outlet.
Inside the front arm rest bin, you can plug in a charger to charge your phone. BUT, to allow you to still have your phone out when it's charging in that bin, on the right edge of the bin there's a little dimple through which you can route your phone cable, so even when it's charging and you want your arm rest lid down, you can still have your phone outside of the bin.
The fact that I can tie the programmed position of the seats, steering wheel, and mirrors to a particular key fob. I like that you can push the button of course, but tying it to a key fob is even cooler.
The way the doors unlock by just putting your hand around the door handle <- ok I know a bunch of cars have this now, but I still think it's super cool.

EDIT:

BTW, now that you ask about the color, I did think of a question to which I can't find the answer, thought you guys might help: For BMW, there's a VIN decoder website where you can look up any BMW VIN going back to the 80s and find out exactly what build your car was, and what options it had installed. I don't really need it for the M3 because I know them so well, I can instantly tell what options were on it. But, I'm totally new to Jeep, so I'm much more lost there. Is there a place where I can double check my car's VIN and see what options it had installed? From the pictures, it seems like I have the Advanced Tech Group and Luxury Group on it, however, I have only a simple sunroof whereas the Luxury Group comes with a panoramic roof...so I'm confused. I obv have the HID headlights and 8.4in screen with BT and all the rest, so it's confusing me a bit.

I could just ask a dealer I guess, but I thought it would be cool if I could look it up on my own.

EDIT2: Found this: VIN Decoder - Jeep Cherokee Forum but that only gives you the standard specs on the car, it doesn't give me exactly what my car is equipped with.
YOu have your rig so you know what you have onboard but here is your official VIN specific complete list of everything you have. And as you said, it is one of the very very first to be made. It shows as a "Pilot" order and given that production did not officially start until Jan 22, 2013 you definitely have an early bird. FWIW, your detailed build date is on the same door jamb sticker but in the lower right (MDH) in the format of MMDDHH, Month/Day/Hour in military time.

You input your VIN here...I have attached yours...nice JGC, have fun with it!

Ah, thanks man, much appreciated!

Here's a pic from dinner outside Tampa last night, found and Overland twin:

Also, even though we're on a road trip for the weekend, still had to give it a wash:

What's funny for me is I ultimately wanted an SRT but couldn't get the OK from u know who and I rarely see red Summits but I have parked next to like 5 red SRT's...the SRT gods r messin' with me!

I can't stand a bugged up car on road trips...its the last thing I pack (so its accessible), my wash/detail stuff in case I can't find a hand full service wash joint along the way......

Safe travels.....

Agreed with you. Also really want an SRT...same issue. Love this Limited because it's so loaded though, but would certainly loved to have had an SRT or a Summit (same color, all options, but with the V8).
