Introduction and my 2015 Wk2 Altitude

Hello everyone,

I've been a member for a while and have enjoyed reading your posts. After owning numerous cars of all makes and models I find myself back in a 2015 JGC Altitude. Back in 98 I had a 5.9 Limited with a lot of work done. I loved the wk2 JGC the first time i saw the new lines and was impressed with the interior. After being on a BMW kick and most recently having TONS of issues with a X5M i pulled the trigger on a black altitude. I needed better mileage but with a lot of room and features and it was instant love when I looked at this one...

So far my mods installed are-
K&N Air Intake
Gibson exhaust with custom piping done to make system cat back
Black upper grill
New black headlights with LED running lights similar to charger
LED headlight bulbs and yellow LED fog light bulbs
SRT black taillights
SRT pedals
Charger SRT ebrake pedal (works with slight mod)
OEM navi added
Aftermarket headrest DVD/Gaming system for my kids in back seat
Weather tech mats for winter
Weather Tech lipped cargo liner
Mopar coin tray liner
Front windows and sunroof tinted 20%
blacked out Batman logo on tailgate and front lower grill (my 7 year old son got these as a gift for me. He loves them so go easy on me)
Jeep OEM door sills
Aftermarket "Grand Cherokee" Scuff plates

Mods I have but will be installed 9/26...
r1 concept premier black cross drilled and slotted rotors and pads
OEM Jeep Summit black wood steering wheel
SRT oem Mopar red push start button
calipers painted black
black vinyl wrap on windows
Engine cover has been sent out to be carbon fiber dipped

Future mods- (most likely next spring as summer goes away...
Lowering springs
22" inch wheels and tires
possibly a OEM STR8 Hood

What do you guys think so far?

(sorry about the dirty pics)

Thank you

Nice ride! How did you wire the headrests and how difficult were they to install? Are they connected directly to the HU sound system?

Looks like you hit the ground running. Great looking Jeep so far.
IMO skip the wood steering wheel.

They were direct plug and play. Did those, led bulbs in new headlights and fogs and black grill at same time. Took about an hour total for everything but totally changed my front end.

Re: Introduction and my 2015 Wk2 Altitude

I just have them ran through the seat back for now and after seeing other posts on this forum am going to hide the wire down the headrest hole. They are tapped into the harness under passenger seat so they power on and off with car. They have wireless headphones so they run their own movies or video games while mom and dad listen to our own music

My cousin has a Summit and my wife has an Escalade both featuring wood steering wheels. I like the feel of the summit wheel so I'll give it a try. Since I own both wheels outright I can easily swap them back. I actually got a tip today on a totaled 2014 srt8 with flood damage so I might be able to source the oem wheel and carbon fiber dash kit.

What brand/model are they? They blend in very nicely with the interior.

Again IMO the Altitude is a completely different animal than a Summit or a pretentious Escalade so the wood steering wheel would look out of place.
The Altitude is muted and more subtle than the other two.

Last I read about the SRT8 steering wheel is that you'd lose heated wheel functions when installed. I'm not sure if anyone was able to figure this out.

Nice! How difficult was it to remove the rubber brake pedal cover? I've read it's a pain.
