iPad install

Has anyone on here done this install?? I found a couple of videos on YouTube of a place down in Southern California that sells the kits but wanted to get an idea of complexity level and what features do you gain and lose out on. Might have to just call the place but thought I would check out on here first.

Man it's beautiful huh???

That would work for the non navi unit vehicles. Mine controls everything in the car so an iPad would not do anything. Plus the system is pretty decent, I actually like it.

Re: iPad install

A little more work on creating a better fitment and than I think it's a neat idea.

Good point but whoever did this install did it in their SRT Jeep and for 70 large I think that one had the nav unit standard.

The 2012-13 SRT which this is had the old outdated navi unit. Also it was his cousins shop. The whole build is on YouTube under soundman of you guys want more details...

I'd be interested in putting an iPad in a rear headrest to let the little one watch cartoons....I know I'm not the only one who has considered this...I wonder if anyone has done it.

I know I can buy a mount....but I'd like to have it neatly in the headrest, permanently attached.

Re: iPad install

^ The headrests have active airbags. I would not tear into them. The only option available are exterior mounts.

I found some really nice headrest mounts for the iPad on amazon. They clip to the posts and are a clean install. Just do a search and you'll find a ton if really nice options.

With the way technology changes, I prefer this to a permanent, built in headrest mount.
