Re: Is Anybody on here happy with there WK2?

There are LOTS of us who love our WK2 and have had no problems! I have over 1.5 years and almost 10K miles. As someone noted, a lot of forum traffic is for tips and problem solving. I had my '93 Grand Cherokee until I replaced it with the 2011, and am fully expecting another 15-20 years of very little drama.

Re: Is Anybody on here happy with there WK2?

'11 overland 5.7, 34k miles and no major issues. Little issues to be expected with the number of electronics and new systems, but no where near the headaches of the European vehicles I've had in the past.

I have since traded for a 12 overland of which the suspension seems much better so far.
Yes. She went in this morning with my "to look at list." She was also in for service the first week I had it in January for a rear shock mount or a rear shock and mount. Not sure exactly.

I rented a mazda 2 through enterprise and made my way to a bigger jeep dealer in the direction I had some business in today. They had about 20 grand Cherokees on an outside lot. Needless to say I was like a fat boy in a bakery on Sunday morning. I inspected each jeep for the trim that goes down the side of the car and the finish of the paint. The Verdict is oddly enough the lower trim Laredo and Laredo x had very secure trim, very snug to the vehicle. Wheras all the other models had looser door trim to where you just can poke it with your finger and it is obviously not attached to the car snugly. 7 altitudes and overlands all had slight to moderate door misalignments. All of them had their rear hatch perfect to very well aligned though. I really didn't see any flaws in the paint except for a goldish colored one that was really obvious sputtered paint flow. The sun was bright and imperfections would have been hard to spot except on a mineral grey that unfortunately shows where someone must have drove into the side of it I also saw 1 saddle dashe that showed the same condition as mine. One saddle dash was perfect.

Then I wandered over to the 10 durangos. Bad ass citadels and r/t's. Beautiful machines. And as an observation the finishes in. General seem to have looked better quality. There was less orange peel effect than the GC's on the same lot.

The 300's seemed to have nicer paint quality also. Less orange peel effect. Weird.

Then I got a ride home in a new town and country. Great ride compared to my GC as a comparison.

Can't wait till she's out. I'm jonesing already.

That was a terrible omission in '08 for a nicer vehicle, it's flat out unacceptable in '11. Yes I know they're planning to add them for 2014, but I'm disappointed they didn't do that from the start, it feels like something they decided to intentionally leave out, only to change later on to try to get people to buy new vehicles).
BMW has been doing the same stunt with the LED rear lights for at least 10 years now. They will introduce a new model with incandescent rear lights, then 3-4 years into that body design, they will give the vehicle LED taillights.

Re: Is Anybody on here happy with there WK2?

2012 loredo V6 hasnt missed a beat so far 2000kms i do flog it when i drive it and certainly gave it no mercy for the first 500 with lots of mid rev loading. Non quadra lift rides well and the sound unit is fantastic with streaming etc. I traded a 2010 outback diesel which was also great but just not built to do it tough. Hasnt used a drop of oil either.

Re: Is Anybody on here happy with there WK2?

Count me as a happy Jeeper. 2012 Limited with V6 engine. Best GC since they decided to makeover in 1999. Love the way it looks, love the way it drives and love the features.

My only complaint is the suspension. It is too soft and is targeted for regular highway commuting! Maybe in couple of years, I will put some stiffer shocks to make the ride sporty.

Re: Is Anybody on here happy with there WK2?

Love my GC Overland CRD so far!
5,500 kms travelled with good mix of city and country driving
It has lots of power for my needs and is really comfortable
Yet to do any tough low range driving but that is planned
I am a happy first time Jeep owner - and I do hope I stay that way for years.

24 hours in my hands- still giddy... yup. I said giddy. 40 year-old man. giddy, grinning like a schoolkid, looking around the office for an errand to run for anything... giddy.
