Mine has no badge. I've seen some others that do. AFAIK, the V-6 equipped vehicles are E-85 compatible, but due to emissions reasons, not all V-6 WK2s are listed as such (depending on the states involved). I don't know what rhyme or reason is used for the badge.

Re: Is anyone running E-85 Gas in their WK2 V6?

My Laredo has the FlexFuel badge on the rear liftgate. Ugly as heck. I'll likely be taking it off once I receive delivery of my Laredo.

I'll be sticking to regular 87 octane gas as well. No E85 for my Pentastar

I noticed that too. A co-worker had a WK2 rental with the badge. Mine doesn't have the badge but the gas cap indicates "E85". That's just fine with me.

Re: Is anyone running E-85 Gas in their WK2 V6?

I have been running E85 for about 4 weeks now. I have only dropped about a mile per gallon. With my driving, the tank still lasts the same amount of time. To me, power seems the same. So in my case, I think it is worth the lower cost at the pump. I also don't have the flexfuel badge on the back, but do have the yellow fuel cap that says e 85.

Re: Is anyone running E-85 Gas in their WK2 V6?

My V6 Laredo X has over 12,000 miles on it now. Mostly I've tried to run pure gas, which around here is 87 octane and costs about 10 cents a gallon more than E10 rated at 89 octane. Occasionally I've had E10 in it with no real noticeable difference in performance and mileage.

There is a station near my house that sells E85 so I recently decided to give it a try. I had a nearly empty tank, I put over 22 gallons into it, and the E85 was $2.749 a gallon versus the $3.659 price of the E10. So in this case, the E85 is 75% of the price. For this to work for me, I need to get at least 75% of the gas mileage, otherwise the price/performance won't work out.

I normally get about 18 mpg in city driving, so as long as I get 14 or better on E85 I'll be ahead. So far after about 3 days of driving, the EVIC readout says 14.5 mpg, but it is usually a bit optimistic so we'll see in a few more days when I go to fill up again what I really averaged.

I intend to at least try 3-4 tanks of E85 and give it a fair shot. Sure, you may burn more gallons of the stuff and there are questions about whether it's overall cleaner, better for the environment, questions about corn use, etc., but I don't really care about all that. To me, it's all about price/performance. If the E85 works out to be cheaper, I'll use it. If it doesn't, I wont. In any event, I hope to determine, for me, what kind of mpg hit I'll take with E85. Then I'll know the baseline % to use to determine what kind of price discount I need to see if E85 is worth it in the future.
