He just said he was comparing a V8 WK2 to a V8 X5...so that means the 50i.
All you have to do is build them to similar specs.
Per Jeep.com a loaded V6 Overland Summit with rear entertainment MSRP's at $48,915.
The X5 35i STARTS at $48,395. Thats no nav, no leather, no wood trim, no keyless entry and start. Base.
You have to step up to a X5 35i Premium, add nappa leather to get the leather dash trim, add the convienience package to get nav, keyless entry and start, rear camera, sensors, add the cold weather package to get heated wheel and rear seats, add the rear entertainment and the adaptive cruise. Price? $69,845
. Thats similarly equipped to a Summit, over $20,000
Its even worse when you factor in the deal you can get on the Jeep vs the deal you can get on the X5.
You want a V8? Gotta add the same options to the X5 5.0, and that brings the price to $75,895
. The Jeep? $50,110. The X5 is $26,000 more.
So, unless you're looking at an X5 that is NOT comparable to an Overland Summit in features and options, price is CERTAINLY
a consideration seeing that a comparable X5 is ~50% more expensive.
If you have a lesser X5...you have to compare it to a lesser Jeep. The X5 is just a much more expensive vehicle.
