Re: Is it me or most of the problems with the Overlands?

No Lux II package here. I do have the 8.4AN upgrade, which is part of the issues I have (rebooted on me, lost all settings, now volume messed up.) Also have various rattles and such. Sounds worse than the 2005 with 150,000 miles I traded in for it...

Haven't done a complete tally, but it seems the Limited problems that are posted all have "Luxury II Package". Wondering if the additional electronics have anything to do with it??

Re: Is it me or most of the problems with the Overlands?

I have an early build Limited without the Lux II package and no problems to speak of. Thought the outside temp display was messed up as it constantly showed the wrong temp 'til I found out from this forum that's how Chrysler programmed it. I think my A/C could probably use topping off of the refrigerant, but it can wait. No real problems with the RA4/nav unit; mine is squeak/rattle free (other than the load of crap I stuffed in the cargo area and haul around with me all the time); and it accelerates and shifts like a dream since performing GCLimited's negative battery terminal removal mod.

Even though the GX has 7 seat capability, It's still the most comparable to the WK2. Equally equipped, it's around $65k...

I owned a Lexus before my '14 and the thing I miss most is the loaner program.

I have a few issues with my Overland, but am waiting for a few to see if any others pop up, then have them all addressed.

The only issues I have with my Limited are that the Hemi gets up to 110+ mph on the highway before I realize I'm speeding, and Pearl Jam Radio on XM plays "Immortality" too often.

My Overland has been in the shop for over a week - won't get it back until mid next week. Will spend over 2+ weeks total in the shop... so far. Still in the first month of ownership.

2014 Overland loaded up with about 1,500 miles and no dealer/service visit since initial delivery. Fit, finish, operation, electronics, performance, etc....FLAWLESS.

Yup, the Hemi sure is a beast on the highway when you put the hammer down, it just goes!

It seems to me that most 14's with issues are the 3.6's. I could be wrong but I haven't seen anyone post any major issues that have the 5.7 unless I missed it. Maybe because there aren't as many? Maybe someone with a 5.7 that's had issues can chime in.

I've had electrical issues. AC/fan won't run with remote start, and passive entry works about every other day

Get used to that.
My overland went back in on day 3. Window molding folded over under glass. Missing bolt on the hood. bubbles in the dealer tint, and a few other things.

Hi all ! I have a limited 2014 with tons of problems ! I have less than 800 miles , and everything is wrong ! The grand Cherokee is way to expensive to compete with European models. It s not even funny how far away they are from delivering a good quality product. I do regret my purchase ( with all the options) because my GC is a real lemon ! I can t really talk because everything is in my lawyer 's hand now.... Beurkkkkk
But once you go Audi and BMW and the rest , I still do not understand why I gave my $$$ to Jeep . Above all , even if everything would have gone smoothly , everything is flimsy, cheap plastics, with absolute NO class. But then again no one forced me to buy it ... So..... My mistake .....

Re: Is it me or most of the problems with the Overlands?

Certainly your "mistake", and it also sounds like you got a rare lemon...which is unfortunate, and I hope things work out well for you.

The reason you bought it is probably similar to everyone on here. You did your due diligence, compared apples to apples, then realized the GC is $15-$20k cheaper than its direct competition.

It's probably your unfortunate experience talking, but if you sit in an Overland or Summit and think they're not on par with Lexus or other luxury brands....you're crazy.

I get far more compliments on my GC interior than I ever did with my Lexus. I work with a lot of people with luxury brands...and plenty of people prefer my GC over Audi, Cadillac, and others.

I completely understand why you're upset...a lemon will do that to you...but that's why they have lemon laws. You'd probably be posting the opposite if you didn't have any problem saying "I cant believe I got this many goodies for $$XX,XXX!"
